As a theme deck, it's not very strong -- using cards only ice-themed or from the Ice Age cycle (with a few exceptions). However, Heidar himself is very powerful, and teaming up with Minamo, he can greatly restrict your opponents' capacity to mount an offense. Defensive cards like Wall of Frost and Glacial Wall further stem the bleeding. Fatties like Rimefeather Owl, Polar Kraken, and Jokulmorder can close out the game.

I wish there was a way to get black in here for vamparic hexmage, to make a turn-2 20/20 from dark depths

Yup, no can do. The best I got is turn 4 off Thespian's Stage.
