Deck Description

I love U/W/R and Esper too much to have one or the other, so I tried mixing them both together.

EDIT: I've decided to try running 2x Reap Intellect instead of Rakdos's Return, this may or may not be a permanent change depending on how they test. The reason for this change was that Rakdos's Return, while good at disrupting hands, is far less lethal in comparison, because you may name Reap Intellect with Council of the Absolute and have an absolute bomb at your disposal.

Yes there are better things to name with CotA, but I want to give this a shot.

How to Play

The idea behind the deck is to control the board at all times, making sure your opponent can't cast spells and can't attack with creatures.

Against control and midrange match-ups your biggest win condition will be milling with Nephalia Drownyard and whittling down their life total with Obzedat, Ghost Council.

When playing against more aggressive decks you'll want to side in cards like Feeling of Dread, Blind Obedience and Searing Spear to slow them down so you can control the board.

When playing against Esper Control (or any other deck that uses mill and Sphinx's Revelations) decks you'll side in Psychic Spiral and Elixir of Immortality as well as negate for another answer to Sphinx's Revelation.

Yeah, I'm well aware of how bad the lands are at the moment, no one in my area has any of the lands (that I need) for trade, and I have no means of purchasing cards on the Internet.

I like this deck a lot. But, why don't you play Sphinx's Revelation, Aurelia's Fury, or any counter spells in the mainboard?
Looks like a lot of fun though and I'd hate going against this without a warning. =]

Ive been experimenting with control decks recently, I'd very much appreciate it if you could check them out and maybe even offer some assistance.

I am running three Dissipates in the main board.

I don't run Sphinx's Revelation simply because I don't own any, and in most match ups it is very easy to control your opponent long enough to get Obzedat onto the field and start draining your opponent with him.

I don't run Aurelia's Fury because the deck simply doesn't need it, there is no need to tap your opponent's creatures when you will just remove them.

Doesn't work too well against Burn decks with no creatures (;
