Deck Description

The third in my series of anti decks. This deck focuses on the ally. Allies are cards that have effects that are triggered or are affected by other allies. I noticed a lot of these little buggers popping up in decks because of their versatility.

I personally admire allies, mainly because it takes some level of skill to use them (unlike slivers, for instance). however, it's another deck type, and another target for my series.

please rate, comment, and make a request for the next in the series.

Deck discussion for Anti-ally

You know what really kills allies?

Pingers.

I run an Ally deck and I faced someone who had a deck full of Vithian Stingers, Cunning Sparkmages etc. and it stomped me. The reason being is that when I play an Ally, you can ping it before it gains the +1/+1 counters.

true but that only works on the 1-2 drop allies. any later and then you get into 2/2 and 3/3 allies and it stops working. but I'll put your idea into consideration

you cant ping it before it gets counters it gets the counter while entering play, they give it to them selves you got the raw end of the deal there.

the counters are a trigger ability. therefore it goes on the stack. just as a ping ability will go on the stack BEFORE the counters.

Unless you want to throw Basilisk Collar in there some of those pingers may not be best use, in your side bored i would rune Infests, sure it hurts your creatures too but it costs tons less and maybe some volcanic fallouts too.

I love playing with my allies and I'm not gonna lie. This deck would suck to play against. Nice job! Have you made an anti-elf deck yet?

I looked up anti-ally decks because my friend just got a bunch of allies and has been destroying me with them. But I noticed some of the cards in this deck are older with white borders, and my friend told me you can't use those anymore. Is this true?

Only if you play according to a specific ruleset, you can look up the certain restrictions here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic:_The_Gathering_formats

But for kitchen table magic (Also known as Casual), no cards are banned normally, except the ones with a silver border, the joke cards.
