ideal opening hand consists of 1 or 2 forests, 1 mountain, 1 Ruric, and as many Llanowar elves as possible as they can be chained together first turn to get up to 4 free forest for turn 2.having a large mana pool allows for new creatures to be played each turn, tapping creatures for mana helps greatly and the idea is to have enough mana to play large creatures with enough untapped mana to play instants at any point. Suffers against control and burns on the smaller creatures.
