Deck Description

2/23: it started as the black blue zombie token deck from the Dark Ascension. Trying to get the Grimgrin/Gravecrawler combo going but it never seems to flow very well and I don't enjoy playing it. Anybody have any suggestions?

3/2: Took out a bunch and swapped in what was suggested. Sideboard consists of the older cards from the deck.

3/9: Decided to drop the token spawning and focus on buffing the zombies instead.

Deck discussion for Ermahgerd, Zermbies

First of all, you got too much of everything. Chance is you rarely will get yer combo in play. I'd reccomend you to get Rooftop storm ("You may pay 0 rather than pay the mana cost for Zombie creature spells you cast." for 1 island and 5 noncolor mana) and get rid of anything unrelated to zombies or graveyards
If you want you can look at my blue/black zombie deck http://www.mtgvault.com/thebeeja/decks/innistrad-block-zombie-deck/ if you need inspiration... Works quite well.

If you want to play Grimgrin-Gravecrawler combo its obvious you have to put 4 Gravecrawler!!!if you want to put 2 Grimgrin (i prefer 4) you should put a card so you can search your library and bring them in your hand rather than wait till it comes..it might never happend!think somethink like Diabolic Tutor..i dont like blue so i dont know but im sure you can find something similar or cheaper or something to draw cards!also you can hav something like Corpse Harvester if you want to play with older cards!Digraf captain is good with the combo so 4 of them as well!Lord of the Undead is good cuz he power up your Zombies and he can al;so bring them back from the "dead"...also if you want o play Grimgrin you need more sucrificial piecies so i suggest to find cheap blue or black creatures that have abilities like draw a card so you can have a good def till you get a Grimgrin and then you can sucrifice them to power him up!!also NEVER put a crd in your deck only 1 time...you won't get it...hope i helped a bit!have fun with the zombies!!

Your mana curve is really high. You have 10 cards that are cost 5 or higher, 18 that are 4 or higher, and only 13 that are cost 1 or 2 (only two of which are creatures that can block that turn). That means an average starting hand for you will have mostly things that you can't play until the third turn or higher, and what you CAN play will be primarily aggressive and leaving your defenses open. All this gives aggro decks a HUGE advantage over you. Plus, some of the bigger creatures should NOT be in this deck. Your Bloodlord of Vaasgoth is very inefficient by being in a non-vampire deck; almost all of your non-zombie creatures will be severely less important in this deck.

I would suggest reducing the count of your big creatures so that you only have 4-5 cards of cost 5+, and (since your focus is to be running the Gravecrawler combo) you should put in some Transmute cards from the original Dimir. Dizzy Spell can be used to search for Gravecrawler, OR it can be used to stall an aggro deck until you gather your resources. Brainspoil can be used to transmute into Grimgrin or it can be used as a creature killer, whichever you need more.

Overall, I'd say have 4 Gravecrawler, 2-3 Dizzy Spell, 4 Grimgrin, and 1 Brainspoil. The rest of your cards should be lower-cost zombies or zombie-token summoners (Diregraf Ghoul, Vile Rebirth, etc.) to block or pressure, and some good stall cards until you have the mana you need (Mana Leak, Downsize, etc.).

Good luck with the deck! =)

Thank you for the suggestions! Working on getting more cards, but just from the minor changes I was able to beat my friend that usually wins 2 out of 3 last night.

a Phyrexian tower is great in zombies as long as you have the return to play effects but even with just grave crawler it is good. try to add more combo since the deck will be running a little slow compared to most decks like this one.

Butcher Ghoul, Carrion Feeder, Corpse Harvester, Crypt Champion, Death Baron, Fleshbag Marauder, Coat of Arms, Geralf's Messenger, Gempalm Polluter, Ghastly Remains, Havengul Lich, Hunted Ghoul, Lich Lord of Unx, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, Phyrexian Delver, Putrid Imp, Gloomdrifter, Brain Gorgers
these are some of the zombies or cards out there you should take a look at. keep in mind these are only a few of hundreds of options.

im not sure why main man up front wants you to focus on rooftop but in my opinion its too hard and too high of a cost to pull off unless you use alot of mana ramp which does exist in black blue believe it or not.
