I just want to note that you should look into most Shadows Over Innistrad cards. Also look into discard, but I'm sure that enough tribal support for discard appears in SOI. Madness is very big.

ah, good thing. I like decks that are slow, so they are good in multiplayer, but are very hard to deal with once they start up. example would be this: http://www.mtgvault.com/worldsoul/decks/spirits-of-the-past/
Not a very quick deck(tokens aren't very quick), but once it goes up, it can kill quickly (ten spirits are hard to block, add on phantom general, and you get a big bonus)

looks like a really fun deck to play! I love defensive decks and deck where, once the ball gets rolling, nothing short of a Timetwister or Planar Cleansing can stop it. +1

cremate can go. I would use Ruin in Their Wake instead. you should also try replacing Natural Connection with Rampant Growth(same effect at sorcery-speed for one mana less. pulse of murasa could be exchanged for a Swell of Growth. Stalking Drone and Ulamog's Crusher are bad for this deck, try some Call the Scions or Scion Summoner(better for blocking, as it generates more bodies, and gives temporary mana.

just some advice, but, if you can, try and find some cards like Spreading Seas to help islandwalk be viable. more copies of Lord of Atlantis and Master of the Pearl Trident are also good. The cards I would remove are: Coralhelm Guide, Deepchannel Mentor (the object is to kill the opponent before they kill you, so late game is bad.), Hamilar Wavewatch(same problem), and Merrow Harbinger(not remove, per say, but cut down to two copies, I'd say.) some cards to add would be: three more copies of tideshaper mystic, full copies of Spell Pierce, two copies of Triton Tactics, and full copies of Spreading Seas.

It's a custom play format designed by one of the guys who writes articles on the official Magic site. very hard to make the deck(little did I realise how many creatures were involved with lifedrain!)

something that you should take into account is the fact that you cannot put cards like Telling Time in, and Rituals are just BS for a mainly-blue deck. use Chromatic Lanterns or Coral Atoll to make the mana you need. rituals are good to make burst moves, but not good for long-term once you get opponent's cards.

good card to look up is possibility storm/mindmoil. either card is good in an impromptu deck like Izzet.

overdraw is the way to go in any commander-type mill deck, as it makes people think you are helping them until to late.

also, congregate could be removed for cards that help with creatures. Path to Exile or Divine Verdict? You have enough Lifegain already. also, If you're willing to add green, Ajani, Mentor of Heroes gets +100 life as ultimate. and you can't beat Celestial Mantle for Lifegain.

good point. But I want to focus on protection of my one creature, and I can replace one of my creatures with annother not of this world to boost protection. good point on the Mark, but this deck aims to go so fast that Mark will not pop more than five times, and let's face it: do I want to spend 1 mana every turn to give my creature +1/+1, or do I want to spend 1 mana to potentially give it +3/+3 once, then use the four free mana on the next five turns for other enchants?

Ajani, Caller of the Pride has one effect related to your life total, and it is putting tokens out.Look into other ajanis, and see if there is a better one.

Mark of Fury is less powerful than Furor of the Bitten because it does not give any +2/+2 bonuses. Ethereal Armor was an addition to replace two Mob Mentalities, and Phanlax Leader requires more than one creature on the feild, something that I will most likely try not to have.

too low mana base for mana curve. 20 lands with no mana-fixing with a midrange deck like lifegain? bad idea.

Bwahahahaha! This is so funny. Use Silence on Elite Arcanist or Isocron Sceoter, and activate at the begining of each turn! they would just scoop!
