Deck Description

im playing this in our for my fun deck against my friends. since im playing standard, and they play legacy, i made this deck to play with them in a legacy format. im going against:

-RDW that is some sort of elemental deck,
-WB control deck which is partly a land destruction as well with crucible of worlds, armageddon and world queller
-UR pyromancer ascension
-Mono white soldier equipment deck
-UB reanimator deck
-Mono red goblin deck
-RB land destruction deck
-mono black discarder deck

but since i mainly play standard and just want to play this for fun, i want it to be as budget as possible. i have the idea in mind but need to get the numbers right and to cut some of the cards that i want to use. during our last time playing with each other, i didn't have much problem with anyone except with the two land destruction decks because what happens is, the first one to destroy a land wins. i would like to be more consistent in defeating them even if they were the first to destroy a land from me. and the reanimator deck which has a card that can choose a color and color of the chosen type can't be played. dont know how to counter this one. i lose 4 of 5 games we played :(

first i need to get the numbers right, i want to play a lot of cards but cant find space for them all

other cards im considering

ramp cards or accelerators
- khalni heart expedition
- seething song
- harrow

land destruction cards
-mwonvuli acid-moss (with ramp)
-wreak havoc (anti counter decks)
- wake of destruction (dont think i need this anymore)

creatures
-need suggestions here
-magnivore (might be good)
-goblin ruinblaster (a fast creature that destroys non basic lands)

planeswalkers
-chandra nalaar (creature killer and an alternate win con)
-garruk the wildspeaker (mana accelerator and a beast creator)
-sarkan vol (not much of a fan of this one)

note: in our country which is the philippines, it is quite hard to get old cards so i prefer much newer ones but feel free to suggest old cards.

Deck discussion for RG Land Destruction (comments pls)

Standard actually has a lot of good options for land destruction. Look at Liquimetal coating. Make their land (or any perm) an artifact then use naturalize, crush, shatter, etc. Check my land/point destruction deck out.

I've typically found that in order to make LD work, you have to commit to the idea completely. Kind of like an "all in" concept that you live and/or die by. With that said, you have the basics to make that happen, but I think you are missing the speed that a traditional LD deck needs.

To remedy this, consider replacing 4 and 5 CC LD cards with 3 CC options; Pillage, Molten Rain, and Winter's Grasp are all much more viable than Earth Rift and Plow Under.

Beyond that, you want to be able to start popping lands as early as turn 2 (turn 1 if you're running black). To do that, replace Manamorphose with Pyretic or Desperate Ritual Manamorphose is really not all that great if you think about it, early it's useful, but later it's just paying two to get two. The Rituals will give you an option to Stone Rain, Pillage, or Molten Rain a land turn 2 to ensure you get an early grip.

In the land department, you're ok, thought Copperline Gorge 'could' be useful; but typically you want to steer clear of 'into play tapped' lands when running land destruction.

I have three LD builds that you might find useful if you're looking for some alternate suggestion, a mono-red, black/white, and red/green Splinter deck. Feel free to view them at your leisure.

Hope this helps.

I welcome any comments or criticism you can offer on any of the decks I have posted on the site (just click on my name to see the deck list). Thanks!

thanks for your suggestions. i would consider replacing my 4 CC spells and 4 CC spells. based on my experience this deck has no problem with turn 2 casting of land destruction via mana acceleration from my creatures.
