Deck Description

Vampire Themed deck. Has great synergy and combos well.

I had some of the cards and only had to spend $20 to get the 13 other cards I needed. This deck is surprisingly inexpensive and powerful for only around $40. (if you don't include Mutavault)

How to Play

The deck almost runs itself. You always have something to do with your mana. Just keep playing Vampires, letting them help one another with +1+1 counters and flying.
Bloodline Keepers keep making 2/2 vamps. then he transforms and gives all other vamps +2+2 and you have a group of 4/4 flyers. not to mention if there are multiple of him or Vampire Noctunus on the field who gives +2+1. All the While, you are casting Child of nights, Vampire Nighthawk and Gatekeeper of Malakir. Before you know it you have 7 or so 10/9 flyers. The Childs and Nighthawks with lifelink.

Use removal on any potential threats and Gain lots of life. Always cast Gatekeeper with his kicker to make opponent sacrifice. Play Anowon for added pressure and watch them panic as your army grows and theirs dwindles.

Read the bones and Sign in Blood really let you get deeper into your deck giving card advantage over your opponents.

The mana curve looks much better than shown here if you consider, that you ALWAYS play Gatekeeper of Malakir as a 3 drop.

I can see what you meant, yet I get the feeling you were slightly overstating the speed on this thing. To say that your mana curve is all over the place is putting it bluntly. Personally I would drop Anowon, the butchers, and Kalitas in exchange for some more removal and mana acceleration a la dark rit. If you want a really good vamp to roll with, try your hand at Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief. Trust me, she get's scary.

Getting Rid of the Butchers, Anowons and Kalitas would definitely make this deck faster. I just got my Kalitas, so I'm trying to run him and see how well he works. Butchers and Anowon, do help with removal in late game. Especially when butcher is paired with bloodline keeper. I just continue to swing the tokens generated by keeper and let them take damage or block and kill my tokens. if they do, then butcher forces them to sacrifice. If it wasn't for this combo, I would have taken butcher out a long time ago. Drana could be a nice fit as well, but I dont have any of those. I will have to see if any of my friends have some for trade.

So what do you think of this?
-2 Butcher of Malikir
-1 Kalitas

+2 Vampire Nocturnus (I only have to 2 in my deck now, but I want to get a full set of four regardless)
+1 Bloodseeker OR Shadow Allie Denizen

Anowon has won me too many games to take him out. His presence on the field alone, is pressure on the opponent.

My 6 drop is the Blood Tribute. Other than that, this deck would have a pretty nice curve.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, its always good to get someone elses take on a Vampire deck.

Frankly the combination of 4 Nocturni and 4 bloodline keeper's would be a bit 'win-more' from so much pump. And they're both 4 drops. Ultimately I feel the Nocturni are a better option due to the flying benefit. Beyond that, the extra shadow alley denizen would be helpful, and I'll leave it to you to decide what goes where.

Yea, Can't thank you enough for the advice. Ordered two Nocturnus online. So I can't wait to break this out for the friends next time. I think it will catch some people off guard.

Altered the deck some. lowered the mana curve and focused on bloodline keeper and Vampire Nocturnus for beefing up the other vamps, and gatekeeper/ Anowon for sacrafice.

It runs soooo good and consistent now. turn three and four this deck roars to life. and by 6, 7 and 8, you have either won the game or have your opponent backed against a wall.
