i am not getting rid of tirel and kuldotha, kuldotha gets good first turn token which i then battlecry tirel works well too because it gets you a bunch of tokens then kill everything else but keep the gobos and soldiers.

i agree, it works well but the point of borros aggro is to be super fast so a turn 1 guide is better because by turn 2 you can pump out 4 dmg instead of 3,

this deck is looking better i would take out the memnites and kuldotha's altogether, but thats just my opinion, either way this is looking good mate

Why is Knight-Errant in there? She's the only think keeping this from standard. And why no Steppe Lynx or Plated Geopede? Their landfall abilities are huge in early game, especially against control decks and Valakut.

wow i can't beleive i forgot those two ill take out knight errant but not tirel

Cut Journey for lightning bolt. Find room for War Zone.

What is the point of Accorder's Shield? And you have waaaaaaay too few fetches IMO

0

I would add Squad Hawks and Thopters, they become awesome with Battle Cry since they have evasion on the cheap.

0
Posted 21 February 2011 at 17:38

i dont think squad hawks is fast enough for what this deck wants, but i agree that thopters are better than memnite for battlecry

0
Posted 21 February 2011 at 17:42

also i would drop the crusaders all together and add +1 hero of oxid ridge and +2 whatever you want

A very solid deck. I played a Boros similar to this at the last tournament I went to and honestly, it could have performed just a little bit better.

I found that it's main weakness is the late-game. The problem with Boros is it runs out of steam rather quickly and you find yourself just drawing into things and hoping it's the "kill" card you so desperately need! I don't know your budget so play around with ways to get cards into your hand. My best budget suggestion is Infiltration Lens. People like to block a giant Lynx, etc. so it could help. Also, make sure you sideboard in some heavy removal spells to help you against specific decks in the format.

Otherwise, great deck and good luck!

Oh, I just saw the comment about Squadron Hawk and I'll make my two cents very simple. PUT. THEM. IN. They are annoying to play against because few people play with Flyers (From what I've seen any way) and if your opponent doesn't waste good removal on them rather than a more important creature, they can potentially win you the game. Imagine a Hawk equipped with two Swords in the air? Yeah... it brings a smile to my face too!

Replace the Accorder's Shield with Ornithopters or at least Spidersilk Nets. :)
Hero of Bladehold is too slow (turn 5 action) and too expensive for what you are doing. Stock up on Bolts.

Hope this helps!

^ ^ what this guy saids. Replace shields with ornithopters, replace journey with bolts. Also, i would take up bushwhackers. If u do pull out a turn 1 kuldotha, turn 2 bushwhacker kicked would make your opponents cry. Maybe take out geopede for them? It's true that geopede is good, but with all these battle cry going on, you really probably want to drop down a turn 2 paladin or wardriver instead. also, if u don't have a turn 1 kuldotha, slowrolling bushwhackers to later turn would still be decent. But anyhow, you definitely should test it.

Another thing, i dont know your budget, but goblin guide is absolutely insane in an aggressive deck. It does potentially gives them card advantage if they're lucky, but that drawback is also an advantage since u get to see what they are going to draw.

Add 3 Scalding Taurn and 2 Marsh Flats. Boros should be mostly ladfall to make the plated Geopede and Steppe lynx and adventure gear HUGE! ever see a spikeshot do 16 damage.. I have. it hurts alot. Also bushwhacker...curious on taht. Seems bad cause you are nto running an aggro deck like kulodta (or however you spell it) that card realyl works with summons and weenie goblins only. take out rebirth put in more burn. kill blockers and then swing win game or kill with spikeshot and then burn to death.
x3 adventure gear, x3 spikeshot elder, x3 stoneforge mystic, x3 burst lighting, and maybe one basilisk collar. those with spikeshot wrech titans

I agree that you need more fetchlands. There is really no reason to not include them and plenty of reason you should include them. I would do the following:

+4 Scalding Tarn
+4 Marsh Flats
-4 Mountain
-4 Plains

Oxid Ridge is meant for Izzet with Turn Aside, not Boros, it's also good in Rakdos with Massacre Wurm and Disfigure, those kinds of things.
It's good to have Elspeth Tirel, for the later game.
I don't know how the looked when you previously had her, but having two would do wonders.
Also Terramorphic Expanse and Evolving Wilds help SO much with landfall, and they're better than the rare fetches when you already have 4 Arid Mesa.
I'd suggest cutting 2 Plains and 1 Mountain for 3 Terramorphics/Evolving Wilds, just to ensure you get those land drops with the Linx and Geopede,
Here's a combat tip for those two:
When you drop a fetchland don't fetch until the combat damage phase, then if they chump block you don't waste your fetchland, use the fetch to pump your creatures if they go through. ;)

I'm pretty sure you meant Turn the Tide and not Turn Aside? ;)

thnx that was really helpful but tirel was a bit lat and i like the 4/2 haste and battlecry but i took your dea and added 4 terramorphics is that okay or should i do 3 i don't see the point of 3 why not 4

They slow down the deck ;) You don't wanna keep drawing them constantly. That's why you wanna have 3; 3 cards out of 60 gives you a good chance to play it every game, but at the same time allows you to not draw too many of them and lets you draw another Land instead of it.

Boros scares me more and more with every set. Nice deck list.

I'm thinking we might see something similar to this in the metagame pretty soon.
