Deck Description

Poison Poison Poison. Mine is different because most decks use blue or green, I used both. I use birds of paradise to both accelerate my mana, and allow me to splash blu (easily) e to get proliferation from Thrummingbird and unblockables from distortion strike (which might be the most important card in the deck, I almost always win off of a distortion strike). Sword of Vengeance is actually incredibly good in infect as well. I would play less forests, but the fact that I'm relying on birds of paradise somewhat for blue makes them necessary. Please comment on ways I can improve!

Example of what this deck can do (and did)

Turn 1: Forest, BoP
Turn 2: Swamp Cystbearer
Turn 3: Doom Blade their creature (if they have one), two Giant growths for 8 poison counters.

Dominates creature-based decks (because of it's quickness and four doom blades for any early blockers).
Untested against tournament level, non creature based decks.

Brainstorm is in for when I play this casually with friends. When playing actual standard, I would play with at least 2 putrefax in the sideboard, maybe more plague stingers, maybe more vines of the vastwood, and maybe another skithiryx.

you have 2 Doom Blade in your sideboard when you have 4 in main

Thanks for pointing that out man, I'll fix it. I had them sideboarded at first, but I really like having them for extra speed removal early

love the birds of paradise idea. i'm not a huge fan of the whole poison thing, but this deck is nasty. i wouldnt be interested in playing against it :)

Are you aiming for standard...? Because you've got Brainstorm in sb... just wondering. If you are aiming for standard, go with Preordain.

I'm playing standard, I just happen to have brainstorms and will use them when playing casually with friends. But I'm not sure what I want for those sideboard spots when I can't have brainstorm. I see preordain as massively ineffective compared to brainstorm, to the point where I don't really want to play it, I would have at least two putrefaxes in my sideboard if I played a tournament, to help with control, then maybe another vines of vastwood and another skithiryx. Thanks for the comment!

Pretty sick; I've thought about BoP for my infect deck, but I tested it and it seems that I need the space for buffs =X

To each his own, I like the extra speed, BoP gives me, but it does make it less likely that I'll draw a buff when I need it
