I'm currently looking for versions the jeskai ascendancy combo that are a little less all in. This deck is basically the ascendancy combo with a back up plan of being a mediocre Delver deck. Which is surprisingly effective, as it turns out. I'm also trying out the addition of the blistercoil weird/paradise mantle combo, just to give the deck another angle in case the ascendancy plan isn't coming together. The only reason i think this is a viable alternative to the mana dork/wish version is because Young Pyromancer just wins games sometimes that you really had no other realistic way of winning. Its pretty much the best thing you can be doing if you're not combing off.
The style of play can be somewhat draw dependent with this deck. The main game plan is to combo off with jeskai ascendancy, retraction helix, and paradise mantle. If thats not gonna work though, you can always play it like an aggressive Delver deck, keeping up constant pressure with Delver and Young Peezy. Occasionally, you win with blistercoil weird, but thats typically a last resort. The sideboard plan is just to audible into much more of a UR Delver deck. How much of it you bring in really depends on the matchup. There are some match ups where its totally correct to move all 15 cards in. At that point, you are straight up just an untuned Delver deck, since you are usually swapping out the combo.
