Deck discussion for Guardians

You don't have Akroma.
I am not down with that.

Anyway, other angels you could include in your toolbox are Empyrial Archangel, Gisela, and Platinum Angel, you can cheat them the same as your other critters, but if you're worried about hardcasting them, throw in an island, a mountain, and a few generic fetches.

I'd also drop the Asceticism for some Quicksilver Amulets. You're dropping absolute bombs, your angels should be enough shut-down, preventing you needing the hexproofing

You're right about Akroma. I don't know how I managed to not include her, other than just the world's worst oversight. I already own Gisela, but I don't run her anywhere anymore; but she is my favorite angel, so on your suggestion of course I'm running her, and I decided to add Empyrial Archangel. I thought about adding Steam Vents and Farseek or something for the mana, but then I thought about it and I thought, why not just add 4 Ancient Ziggurat? I'm never going to do anything with that mana except summon angels, and the Ziggurat won't be a dead draw if I draw it but never draw Gisela or Empyrial Archangel. I thought also about putting in Pillar of the Paruns, but doing both seemed like overkill.

Actually, Asceticism is more for Elvish Piper's sake, as well as the Angels. Most of my friends run a lot of removal, and with Piper, even a well-timed Cunning Sparkmage would finish her off. But Quicksilver Amulet would be a good idea, so I'll think about it.

Actually, I lied, I'm adding Shimmering Grotto for mana fixing. That way I can still tap it for one colorless to do a non-creature thing.

Always nice to find another angel fan, i have worked on my own angel deck quite a time, and so far it has worked out great:
http://www.mtgvault.com/thatangelguy/decks/angel-beats/
it uses feeling of dread to stall the game a bit, farseek and birds of paradise to ramp and fix my mana (its 4-color)
i play rhox war monk to gain me some life to beat aggro, he is also out of range for lightning bolt so that makes him very strong
boros charm is just great, double strike a rhox war monk to gain 6, double strike baneslayer angel to gain 10, deal 8 damage when gisela is on the table, save your precious angels from wrath, and so on
path to exile and detention sphere also do a good job in stalling the game
i ended up adding thrun and sigarda becouse they are superefficient and insanely hard to remove

i ended up playing less angels then i'd like, but in exchange i got to play a kick-ass deck, it will get you the fear you deserve ;)

yeah, reanimator is a great call too, however me and my friends decided to only play modern (to avoid insanity up to some degree), so i didnt continue on that one

ThatAngelGuy, that is a badass deck. Unlike mine, it is not a deck in which nothing happens for many turns. But I'm working on it.

Viking, I already have one deck that relies pretty heavily on bringing creatures back from the graveyard; I'm trying to do something a little bit different with this one. But it's a pretty good idea for this archetype.

Thanks! I've only really been playing for less than a year, so I'm still learning how to deck build the hard way. My friend's boyfriend is a mad genius and he helped me to make some changes to this one.

i spent the last five minutes to put http://www.mtgvault.com/thatangelguy/decks/legendary-angels/ together, it sucks now, tad too slow, mana base is messed up and overexpensive, but if you like the concept, i can make it work, if you want it, ill continue ;)

I like that deck conceptually a lot. I like the 2-of instead of 1-of. I'd love to see what you come up with for mana. I will say that $400 is a little out of my budget. Haha.

if you'd replace moment's peace with fog (http://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=226900) your deck would be entirely modern, of course if you dont care bout that, you shouldnt becouse moments peace is better...

Yeah, I noticed that. I guess my thinking is right now, I don't really need for it to be modern for any reason. It's just a casual deck, and since it can be a slow starter, Moment's Peace is a lifesaver (in theory, haven't built it yet).
