Deck Description

This is your "basic," non-dragon control deck with a spicy addition: Myth Realized. Get the Myth into play, control your opponent's plays and crush them with one, well-timed swing from the fabled Monk Avatar.

How to Play

If a Myth Realized in play still isn't charged enough, there's always Elspeth, Sun's Champion for a win-con (as well as Pearl Lake Ancient out of the board).

The inclusion of Devouring Light, Nullify and Whelming Wave is a concession to a creature heavy meta-game, especially an aggressive one. Whelming Wave is a decent reset button, though I'm unsure how it will work against Manifest-heavy decks.

When bringing Perilous Vault in from the board, it's likely a good move to side-out Banishing Light and Myth Realized rather than play around the Vault. It's a tough call.

When bringing in Arashin Cleric (and to a lesser extent, Stratus Dancer), it behoves you to also include the second copy of Ojutai's Command so life can be gained a second time.

Deck discussion for UW Myth

I have thought about building a deck similar to this myself. I would be concerned with fast aggro decks. Has a lot of potential.

I agree. That's one reason I included Whelming Wave. I suppose Surge of Righteousness and Encase in Ice could help with fast decks. I did consider Silkwrap since Deathmist is so popular, but I opted for Banishing Light since it's a bit more versatile. Let's hope the Origins set brings some better removal for these colors. I'd love to see Detention Sphere or Supreme Verdict again.
