Deck Description

Its a mill deck... it mills your deck. fast.

Im pretty impressed by this deck, as long as I dont get hit by something huge real quick that i cant block I dont have problems for the most part. Once some mana gets flowing I can begin milling 20+ cards a turn, Hedron Crabs are probably one of the best milling cards out there, a couple in play mixed with Thawing Glaciers ability while using a Flooded Strand or Misty Rainforest to get an extra land can score you an 18 card mill for virtually no mana, you just have to play your lands smart!

Deck discussion for Superfast Mill

did you think about using Traumatize?

wow... thats kinda a ridiculous card... yeah ill put that in. I put Tunnel Vision on the sideboard to potentially mill a the majority of a deck in 1 turn, but Traumatize is more sure fire. Thanks!

This is ridiculously efficient.

Thanks! i tried to make it fast and cheap, the Saprazzan lands are a pretty vital part, allowing me to have 2 mana on turn 1, and they have good synergy with the Mindsweepers.

I've just made an elemental burn deck which is kinda the damage equivalent to this deck in terms of speed, link below:

I have always wanted to run a deck like this, but the place I play on Friday nights usually has between 6-15 people every Friday night. Any mill deck that I could build usually doesn't fare very well in multiplayer, but this would obviously crush in one-on-one. I may try something similar when we do a two-headed giant game when I have apartner who can protect me a little. Maybe a cleric absorb/redirect style would let me pick apart our opponents.

yeah, i go to friday night tournaments as well, I dont usually play this deck though, what with the speed that some of the other decks play. I think this deck paired with a cleric/lifegain deck would be an awesome combo. I dont play multiplayer often, I might see how this deck can fare against something like that. And if you dont win the first game, you can drop in Tunnel Vision and target one of their big card that they only have 1 of, you can mill a deck fast as hell that way.

I've stopped using creatures to mill and use them to protect me, give me enough time to start milling:
Guard Gomozoa and Wall of Frost can do the trick, I also use Hedron Crab. Since the NPH release I’ve added Blighted Agent, which is good for chump blocking if needed and if for some reason your mill doesn’t go off, you can infect them to death ?

I also use artifacts to mill, got 2 Shriekhorns, 2 Grindclocks. A really good card is Mind Funeral (if you wanna splash in some black mana), I’ve got 4 in my deck and 2 Twincasts (if you twincast Mind Funeral you can mill at least 8 lands, it also works great with Archive Trap). I’ve got 2 Elixir’s of immortality too, not so much for the lifegain, but more for the shuffle ability.

Telemin Performance is a fun card but very much a hit or miss. I would use it as a side-board card against decks who don’t have much creatures. You could swap in Nemesis of Reason for it, same mana cost and a creature with a mill ability.

I’ve got much love for a mill deck. Good luck with yours!

Thanks for the advice, I put most of the creatures in the deck as chump blockers with added effects, tried to keep the mana costs of them low as well, basically the deck is mill super fast and hopefully the other player wont have time to get out a big creature with flying, or trample or something like that. And hope to hell they dont have one of the legendary Eldrazi sending their whole graveyard back to their deck... Shriekhorn is a good card, but is a 2nd turn play and only lasts 3 turns, making it inferior to some of the creatures. Grindclock is also a later game card, but in a super fast deck isnt really useful
