Deck Description

Obviously, this is a Transmuter/Sphinx deck.

My favorite part about this deck is its flexibility - with Sphinx Summoners and Tezzeret, I am able to pull whatever card I need out of my deck to respond to nearly any situation. What's even more beautiful is that on turn 6 (turn 5 if I've got a Sculptor out) I can manually play a Sphinx Summoner, search for whatever card I need, and immediately transmute it in.

This deck can respond to massive lifegain decks by transmuting in the Magister Sphinx.

Burn decks are stopped by shrouding my Transmuter and constantly popping my Filigree Angel in-and-out, keeping my HP at a more comfortable level.

Any blue deck has to deal with Inkwell Leviathan attacking them by turn 6.

Weenie decks slam their faces into the Wall of Denial by turn 3.

Ethersworn Shieldmages offer not only surprise-protection from burn spells against my Transmuter, but they're a great card to throw down at the end of your opponents turn, then transmute into something they didn't expect.

Sharuum and Sanctum Gargoyle synergize beautifully with the Transmuter, constantly returning any artifacts (Perhaps even the Transmuter herself) to play/hand.

Unbender Tines allow for mana excel in late-game for manually playing cards if necessary, destroying multiple creatures/enchants with the Adjudicator, or making additional transmutes a turn. With two Unbender Tines and Tezzeret out, it's possible to make FIVE (5) transmutes per turn. Or three on your turn, two on theirs.

So, all in all, I think this deck is pretty amazing. I've fiddled with several different builds, but I am quite comfortable with this one. The only changes I would make would be to replace Robe of Mirrors with some Thousand Year Elixirs, add some more Sculptors and swap out some basic lands for borderposts (Love the Sculptor + Borderpost combos. Not to mention... it's land you can transmute!)

Oh, one last thing... I've got to say, the coolest thing this deck can do is to transmute out a Scourglass at the end of your oppnonents turn, then sac it at your upkeep. The look on their face is adorable, every single time. :)
