This deck was built around the guidlines suggested in the Return to Ravnica Player's Guide. It does differentiate in more places than one. The idea of this deck is to play Hypersonic Dragon on turn 5, drop Utvara Hellkite turn 7, then swarm the field with dragons. Counterflux helps eliminate any threats to destroying my dragons, Cyclonic Rift helps clear the field so my dragons have clear skies. If anyone has any suggestions of how to make this deck better, let me know! I'm open to any suggestions. I would like to put a border and state that i would like this deck to stay standard as long as possible, so anything from M13 and Ravnica is fair game for this deck. Sidenote: This is my actual deck. I use this whenever I play. I am working to acquire two more Steam Vents and a playset of Mizzium Mortars and Sulfur Falls. And due to popular comment demand, I will work to secure a Thundermaw Hellkite. Thundermaw Hellkite is a bit expensive for my taste and wouldn't be as effective as say Mizzium Mortars or Cyclonic Rift. Plus I don't have the money to go out and get one.
Fair enough. Just something to consider if you happen to see it for trade I suppose.
I agree with what you have to say though, but Thundermaw only affects FLYERS. What are the odds that when I play it the opposition has any flying creatures. As for the trade, who would want to trade such a rare and fairly expensive card?
lots of people running Angels and spirits...both fly. I agree with thundermaw as your 5 drop, but I see where youre coming from, as im also a penny pincher when it comes to buying singles. looks like a solid deck. hows it play?
It plays well if I don't get mana screwed. I always try to make sure that I start with both a mountain and an island, or a gate and one or the other. It makes it possible to play my multicolor spells. After that, I try to drop Frostburn and Nivmagus so I have some defense that can keep getting stronger. Nivmagus is part of the reason why I have Electrickery and the Charms in there.
