Deck Description

My brother asked if I would post his deck online and get some advice on it from who ever sees this deck. He uses it solely against me casually. I think it's good because he win's at least 50-80% of the games we play in one sitting, but he says it's not good enough for him. So he'd like any advice you can give.

I suggested taking out Chandra's Phoenix and Mindsparker for two more Dragon Hatchling or even taking out four lands for two more Young Pyromancer and two more Molten Birth, but he wants YOUR advice and not mine just because I'm not an experienced player. That's bull, but whatever.

Oh, I'm the one who buy these cards so I'd prefer non-expensive cards because it IS casual. Thanks.

How to Play

He always manages to get Dragon Hatchling or Young Pyromancer out on turn two (with only two copies of each) and then turn three plays Lightning Talons on Dragon Hatvhling (any other creature later in-game) or Molten Birth with Young Pyromancer on the field. He then plays whichever creature he gets from then on, while saving his instants to kill whatever creature I play on my turn. He uses Flames of the Firebrand solely for direct impact and saves Lava Axe as a finishing move.

Again, I think it's really good.

Deck discussion for Brother's Red Deck (Help!)

Well, for starters, Lava Axe is kinda expensive for what it does, and Shock is a little weak. Try taking either some or all of them out and consider using Flame Slash. After all, if you get rid of their creatures, damaging the player will be easier.
Also, if he attacks a lot, and with large amounts of creatures, I suggest Firefist Striker and Bomber corps, just to get some extra damage through.
With the amount of Instants and Sorceries in here, you could add a Guttersnipe or 2, just for fun!

I hope this helps you out, and good luck with the deck!

Isn't Chandra expensive? I'd rather not pay a lot for a card that's only gonna get used in casual.

Scourge of Valkasis a great card, but this deck doesn't run enough dragons to use him fully
