Deck Description

This deck is my take on the Dragons deck from the Knights vs. Dragons Duel Deck. I sort of modified it, for hard casting dragons.

I need help for ramping these big lizards, so ALL sorts of comments are welcome. ^_^

T1: Mountain, Skirk Prospector
T2: Mountain, Dragon Fodder
T3: Mountain, Seething Song, Sac goblins, [insert dragon here]

T3 Bogardan Hellkite? ^_^

Thank you everyone, for your suggestions. All suggestions are highly appreciated. I'm really at a loss now on how to improve the deck more. Thank you ^_^

Deck discussion for Temper Mk.I

Urza's Incubator can speed up things.
Extraplanar Lens can do same things.

thanks for pointing out Extraplanar Lens. ^_^

although i think the Dragonspeaker Shaman can also do what Urza's Incubator does. :D

Do you guys think I should lessen the kinds of dragons?

Yes. In reality, a dragonstorm deck needs very little dragons, and is considered by many to not even be an actual dragon deck. The majority of these decks are filled with mana spikes and storm fuelers. Take a look at my dragonstorm deck and you'll see what I mean. It's much more about a combo and hardly at all about dragons.

@surewhynot: I really, really, really want to hard cast these babies, master deck builder, and i'm having a problem with actually finding the type1 cards. i'll revise, please check again ^_^

I'm confused. You call it a Dragonstorm deck...but you don't even have Dragonstorm in it... You need 4 copies of 1 dragon in a Dragonstorm deck- bogardan hellkite. that's it. the rest is mana ramp and storm fuel. think like this- turn 1, mountain. turn 2 mountain, rite of flame, seething song, seething song, desperate ritual, pyretic ritual, dragonstorm. Pull 4 bogardan hellkite, deal 20 damage to opponent. Something like that. I also like things like manamorphose- pure storm fodder. My dragonstorm deck also has other win conditions, like empty the warrens. Storm 14 goblins into play on turn 1-2, and you're probably gonna win anyway.

No no no, I guess i confused people with the title. I don't want it to be a Dragonstorm deck, sorry about that. I want to hard cast the dragons as fast as possible. :)

I added Dragonmaster Outcasts, because I noticed that the Dragons are liable do "destroy" mechanics. Either bait, to draw out the removers, or some tokens if they don't don't deal with it. ^_^

I agree with surewhynot...

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!

Alright well that completely changes things.

I would consider simian spirit guides- they can help things go a little faster. Also consider desperate ritual- if you can pull 2 of them, you can splice 1 onto the other, and get just that much more mana at once.

Extraplanar lense is a godsend of mana ramp in anything that's non-green...but it is dangerous. If you end up playing against a burn deck, you just committed suicide.

Also, creatures like bloodmark mentor, while nice to give your dragons first strike, don't really fit the theme. If you wanna power out dragons, than fill that spot with some more ramp.

I'll check out the spirit guides. :)

hmm..bloodmark mentor's just there so that the early game goblins can defend against weenies too. is it a bad idea?

what do you suggest i take out and replace? ^_^

If you're playing in eternal formats, don't worry about those weenies with weenies. If you need to defend against them, there will be too many to deal with anyway. You want your fatties fast. Think about this kind of speed...a phyrexian dreadnought deck as a 12/12 trampler turn 2. A Darkdepths deck, has a 20/20 indestructable flyer turn 2. Burn decks will have you dead turn 4-5.

Anything not speeding you up, is slowing you down...only decks that can afford to go slow are control decks. Pull them out, and use those spots for your ramp.

which ramps are efficient?

0

Desperate ritual is efficient...if you have 2 or more, you can splice them onto eachother to multiply effect. Rite of flame isn't the best for the first one, but the 2nd is a red dark ritual. The 3rd and 4th are ridonkulous. Seething song is pretty efficient, as well.

Depending on your budget, I've always liked a good chrome mox or two. Not great for card advantage, but great for mana.

Those are some of my favorites, anyway

Crucible of fire, crucible of fire, crucible of fire.. Tarean mauler and other changlings could work well too.

P.S. Please look at and comment on this deck, I would be very thankful.

Yes, I like the crucible, but it may slow the deck down. :(

oh well, you dont really need the crucible anyways. I do think that Mr. Boagardan is much too expensive and isn't even that good, but I really, REALLY love steel hellkite. PLus you could fetch for it with a hoarding dragon.

what do you guys think about 3 Dragonspeaker Shaman + Steel Hellkite?

0

I agree about the Dragonspeaker Shamans--I run a deck all about hardcasting dragons, and those things become invaluable. Another possibility is to use some cheap changelings (firebelly, etc) and a cryptic gateway to get them out quicker.

Hey. Hey. Know what I just saw?

http://walkingplanes.wordpress.com/2011/04/04/nph-cards-english-edition/

go. see. About two weeks ago Me and my friend, which some of you may know as "rudeboy" were discussing what the new sword would be called. I said "War and Peace, it makes sense." and guess who was right?

not bad been through a lot of changes i can see. for a budget in place of mox and lotus blooms i have found lotus petal to be very very good. its cheap and has the same effect but it only gives u one mana instead.

Well, if you want some ramp Ideas, check: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=176529

With the right hand, you can get 9+ mana and still have 1 more card on first turn, which creates a turn 1 win with Dragonstorm, but if you're hardcasting, that's irrelevant. =)

Probably the only reason why I want it to be a hardcast deck is because I can't get my hands on a Dragonstorm copy. :))

SO instead, I wanna hard cast. :D

I only have 1 copy of seething song, so there. :P

I'd skip over pyretic Ritual, and, depending on how you want to play, like, if you're playing on a free online simulator, run black lotus. :P lol but no, really, pyretic ritual isn't so hot, I'd just rather run more burn spells to keep them in check... But tha'ts just me, it's all up to you. lol

sorry if the comment is no help, but if it was at all, maybe check out my new deck?

Two words. Belbe's Portal. :)

Also, if you're looking to hardcast your spells, Dragonspeaker Shaman are very good, and don't be afraid of the lower cost dragons either. Dragon Whelp and Rakdos Pit Dragon are very powerful examples of low cost dragons. However, since Moltensteel has been printed, I consider him a replacement for Pit Dragon as a low-cost summons.

Wow, Belbe's Portal is the bomb. I hope I can find a couple, I'd really love to add them here.

Also, the reason why i put 6cmc dragons is for Dragon Breath to take effect from the graveyard :D
