This is my attempt at a land ramp hydra deck.

It is influenced by some control decks I've had to play against. The focus is getting big green hydra creatures out. To ensure this happens:

- Protection from counter spells: insist, savage summoning, vexing susher (also considered spellbreaker behemoth, cavern of souls)
- Protection against creature destruction, esp. Supreme Verdict: boros charm, rootborn defenses (also considered Dauntless Escort)
- Hexproofing for things like detention sphere and and targeting spells: Oak Street Innkeeper / Bramblesnap combo, Mistcutter Hydra, Skylasher.
- Land fetching creatures and spells: Cultivate, Explosive Vegetation, Rampant Growth, Oracle of Mul Daya

Needs play testing still.

Sideboard contains:
- Cards that would be fun in multiplayer: Feral Hydra, Hydra Omnivore
- Other cards I considered to meet the above goals.

Other Hydras (not on mtgvault?)

- Hooded Hydra
- Token - Hydra

Deck discussion for Inevitable Hydras - try 1

Hm, this needs some work, especially since you don't seem to make a budget deck and don't mind sticking to vintage.

I'd take out the Boros Charms, Rootborn Defenses and Knight of the Reliquary, this takes out white entirely. I'd take the red out as well, but it has its uses.
Other cards you could take out: Nessian Asp and Vexing Crusher perhaps, uless you actually play against a lot of blue control decks, which seems to be the case.

The free space in your deck can be filled with Zhur-Taa Druid (mana and good in MP) and even Burning Tree Emissary.

I have a mana ramp hydra deck, vintage, mono green, quite cheap, with craploads of damage. Check it out for inspiration if you want to:

Thanks for the comments. This is definitely a work in progress. I feel like it is tilted a bit towards the anti-control aspect, which I should sideboard out. I play casually against mostly one friend with two rather good blue control decks I'm always trying to sabotage. Detention sphere, Supreme Verdict, and abundant counterspells keep most mid to large creature decks from getting set up. Maybe just the mana ramping alone can speed ahead.. we'll see.

Some good suggestions. I'm going to pick up some of the cards you mention and do some play testing.
