This is an experiment to see if Slivers, on their own, can function without support from any other non-sliver combo piece. No mana Confluence. No Patriarch's Bidding. No lord-effect utility artifacts like Obelisk of Urd or Door of Destiny. Just slivers.So why use Hivelord instead of other more default commander like Overlord or The First Sliver?Because this deck has very little card draw. In this style of play, you're more likely to empty your hand to establish a board presence and then get completely blown out by a single board wipe. Sliver Hivelord is slower compared to Overlord, but he protects your board presence until the real threats show up.
