Deck Description

This deck is one of the coolest ideas standard itself has presented to me. Of course, hoarding 26 shadowborn apostles isn't easy, but a man can try. It also costs under $100 for the deck and sideboard.

How to Play

You will most likely draw an apostle. If not, you screwed up. Anyway, by turn 4 you can start cranking out your flyers if you play as many apostles as possible the prior three turns. The different creatures can help in different ways; for example, shadowborn can kill a creature when he enters the field. Or abhorrent can make you some quick blockers, while lord of the void steals their creatures away. The necromancers make your sacrificed apostles come back as 2/2 zombies, a very powerful swap that can stack between multiples of necromancers.

As for the sideboard, Lily is always great, dark prophecy draws you six cards (but you lose six life) and cutthroat maneuver can be used on your creatures to gain more life. (If you can find a better alternative to this, please let me know.)

What do yo do against a deck running bile blight and drown in sorrow other than lose?

You can use immortal servitude to pull them back out. Other than that, I could sideboard in regenerate. I'm always open to suggestions.

I my only recommendation would be to scrap the deck. I've played against it a few times at FNM and its never faired well. Aggro decks apply to much pressure so your apostles are just blockers, control will just counter the servitude or bounce the demon and mid range will have the spells to deal with the apostles and have more relevant creatures (a blood baron hitting the field just wins the game).

Yeah, but at the same time, its more or less just fun to play.

Also, I have found golgari charm protects the team against everything but exile.
