Deck Description

mana ramp deck based around helix pinnacle and elves. any suggestions?

mostly for multiplayer

Im trying to keep it cheap.

Perfect play:
turn 1: forest, arbor elf
turn 2: forest, viridian joiner
turn 3:forest, umbral mantle
turn 4: helix pinnacle, filled.

current sideboard is anti control

this deck plays mainly as a combo deck, trying to use the umbral mantle to combo off as quickly as possible. however, it can also play aggro as well.

Aggro sideboard.
4x joraga treespeaker
4x Llanowar elves
2x Gaeas revenge
2x overrun
3x elvish promenade

Deck discussion for Viridian Helix (please rate)

Gilder-barn and doubling season dude. but running helix is impossible against a vamp deck with hexmage

The hex mage can't target the helix because it has shroud. I usually don't do much with the helix until i can get one of my combo's for it. I will throw any extra mana i have on the pinnacle and usually it doesn't make much difference because i get a combo out before i can fill up my pinnacle.

Hey, it's Abbott. I finally got an account. XD

While Elvish Aberration is a fine card, it's never done much for me in playtesting. Given the amount of mana ramp the deck has, I'd maybe go for something big and powerful - maybe Primalcrux (which Carter could give you) or Myojin of Life's Web. I dunno, Carter and Davis are better with green fatties than I am. Rise of the Eldrazi also has a TON of huge creatures - it is actually themed around them - and you can check out the spoiled cards at http://www.mtgsalvation.com/ . I highly suggest you do!

You may also want to look into using Joraga Treespeaker (another Rise of the Eldrazi card) as a replacement for Greenweaver Druid. I guarantee you she'll be better every time.

Other fun cards to use with lots of mana are Gigantiform and Strength of the Tajuru (both of which should be relatively cheap). Just look; you'll understand.

try replacing the hydra with terra stomper, kalonian behemoth, or rampaging baloths (all of which cost less tthan 2 dollars). another change would be adding oran rief the vastwood. you can also take out masked admmirers for wolfbrair elemental or elvish visionarys. and lastly, always a good adition to green overrun, add overrun. also the treespeaker (or the lorax) is amazing
