M14 rules change lets Thespian Stage combo with Dark Depths.
You can either get down a knight and start swinging, draw cards with confidant and control game with card advantage, or go for the hexmage depths combo.. Or , most likely, a little bit of all those things..Marit lage is a big scary dude, but he is susceptible to bounce and remove from game effects, so you play a 1 one of sejiri steppe to combat removal. you can either tap a knight in resp to removal for steppe, or play crop rotation in resp to removal for steppe. both plays can be a total blowout. i have had games where steppe is in my hand however and cant be fetched, and that can be a problem. although i have won games just dropping steppe, giving knight pro-whatever my opponent is playing, and swinging in with a big unblockable knight. the fact that steppe comes into play tapped keeps me from trying 2 in the deck, but it is often so powerful it may warrant further testing.Cavern of Souls in the board is rarely wished for. Its there to side in game 2 against decks with alot of counterspells. Bog can be brought in against any graveyard deck and be fetched instant speed with Crop Rotation/ Knight

Despite it being less reactive than Crop Rotation, have you considered running two copies of GSZ, and maindecking a Teeg? Or perhaps Tarmogoyf, Qasali Pridemage, ect. Going with a more proactive approach, and lessening your reliance on Marit Lage.Also, the idea of this being applied to either of the XX-Lands variants, or LandStill is incredibly brutal. But this is simply "brutiful", it kills you. In the face.

See, it's crap like this that makes me put in a fourth Wasteland in my Iso-Pox =]I like this man, it seems very...stable (not something I can say about all Depth decks). Where are you going to squeeze in Thespian's Stage?

Having a near uncounterable combo is nothing to scoff at. As usual Marit Lage is incredibly fragile despite his bulk, but the deck just keeps chugging. Often able to make multiple Lages if one gets removed. Its a very fun deck with alot of play! Seemed like every game i played i got to do fun stuff, win or lose.
I feel dirty about Thespian's Stage with Dark Depths, and have to agree with you Artemis, but I deny I plan on at least /trying/ it XX-Lands.I'm excited that I won't have to listen to Standard kiddies whine about somebody dropped the walker first, but I'm sad that Legends are now essentially stupidly epic creatures, and I can't Phantasmal Image them to remove them.
