Commander/EDH is a great format that encourages some really interesting card interactions you'll likely never see in another format. Check out the formant http://mtgcommander.net/rules.php at that URL if you don't know it already before making any comments. Doran it seems to me he's a prime commander in that he's cheap (GBW) and changes the dynamics of the game. Remember whenever you have a card that's easy to access and changes the dynamics of the way the game will play it's a lot more likely you'll win. The Colors? First off White's strong in any format, Black while I find to by diametrically as weak as white is strong has had some of the more abusable cards throughout MTG history especially when combined with other colors. That said, both colors have strong removal as well. Green is my favorite color in MTG, it brings two of the most important features to any deck, faster mana play and very powerful creatures. This is not my first attempt at an EDH deck but there are a lot of cards in circulation from over the years that I'm not completely aware of. So please if you feel something has a place in my deck make a comment and I'll see if I can squeeze it in.

Fair enough, traded for Unstoppable Ash. It's probably a better fit anyway because of my spells that punish high power creatures.
Put in some creature removal. doom blade, go for the throat, rend fleash. I like to take advantage of these spells whenever I play black.
