The low cost creatures allow you to get away with fewer lands and with luck, get a creature advantage early on. Since each card on its own isn't that essential, it easily supplies 'Skirsdag High Priest' fodder and lessens the impact of targeted removal. Ultimately this won't play very well against any sort of well constructed deck, but it will be fun to defeat people with nothing but 2cmc creatures.
