Originally I was building something around Mind Funeral and its grinding ability, only then I remembered I pulled a Phenax in a booster pack and made that it's staple. Kept the Mind Funerals in for good measure because they always belong in a black blue mill.White was originally added as an attempt to gain life with certain spells, but the right defenders were found instead amongst that colour, and the Crypt Incursion's took over as my life gain.
Get the defenders out early. Eliminate and control what you potentially can. Then play the biggens.The biggest win condition is Phenax; your indestructible constant. Ashiok is a major threat they need to deal with early on before it gets out of hand relieving you of any worries for the time being while being extremely beneficial. Jace speeds things along. Nemesis of Reason and Consuming Aberration are there more for fun than anything else. Doorkeeper helps in case I have no other plays, or the mana is there for me to consistently use that extra push. And you can always Tutor to speed these alongs. With 16 defenders and 6 control cards you should be able to buy enough time to establish yourself.

Our decks are frighteningly similar. Funny that we had the same idea and made such similar decks independently of each other.
