Deck Description

What you have is a strong Cleric deck for use in casual play. I fell in love with Clerics around the time Onslaught came out. I built a deck based on the Ivory Doom precon, and just kept updating it over the years. Because this deck is not for any kind of tournament, just casual play, it's going to feature a lot of single or double copies of cards rather than four. What can I say, I like variety. If you like it, please leave comments or suggestions and if you wish, leave a link so I can return the favor.

How to Play

No card in the entire deck costs more than five mana and with 2 Plains and 1 Swamp untapped, you can play a majority of those cards. This is a pretty standard Tribal deck: build up your defense, summon your big hitters, and go for the throat. Rotlung Reanimator and Malevolent Awakening is a popular combination that I've included but I wouldn't recommend relying on it in every game; I usually sacrifice Clerics when I'm ready to finish off my opponent. I've tried to use the sideboard to address the problems I've most commonly faced over the years: creature swarms, spell-heavy decks (like red or blue), decks that rely on combos, reanimators (ironically), and a few other things.

Thanks. I've had this one for years and just kept updating as new sets came out. I finally decided to keep it as is after Return to Ravnica. It's not as flashy, but it's one of my favorites.
