Deck Description

Based the deck on Jace and Liliana's romantic interests from the lore (Agents of Artifice is a really solid novel), and found that the synergy between them as cards works quite well too.

Sit around and counter, play Howling Mines and Temple Bells, draw a bunch, counter some more, have staring contests w/ your opponent (you'll win. easy), counter for awhile longer, get Guile out, Circu, start raping their spells. It's fun. Get Liliana's Caress out early as possible so discarding hits them in the face. Let them kill themselves. Swing w/ Phantom Warrior if you feel like it.

I had an *ok* blue/black deck w/ Jace in it, but I was going through it trying to trim it down (it is technically smaller than it used to be. less than 150ish cards lol) and after talking w/ ryan1028, it was obvious how awesome it would be to run it as a Jace/Liliana love interest thing. I'm considering putting Jace's Erasure in there because that's completely retarded w/ this deck. Circu would be somewhat unnecessary because of how much draw is in here. And thing is, you literally sit around and let your opponents (works best in a multi, believe me) kill themselves. I saw a much quicker version that didn't have Jace, but I prefer the deck w/ him because that's a possibility of drawing 10 cards per turn (1 from reg draw step, 4 Mines, 4 Bells, Jace). It's retarded how much draw is possible. And if they have islands or swamps, I'm going to beat some serious face w/ Wrexial and play what's in their grave for nothing. They take an additional 5 damage on top of whatever they're discarding, and I'm playing whatever fun madness is in their grave.

Dimir lets me tap a mana for something I'd play anyways, bounce that land (Jew Isle Refuge is a great target for it. Need more.), pass turn, counter and play shit on their turn (Leyline of Anticipation makes this deck stupid because I'll play all my shit on their turn, outside of walkers). I don't need Diabolic Tutors anymore because every game that I've lived long enough to play her, I've drawn Liliana, then once I learned that I need it, searched for Caress and then either gone back to her +1 or fetched Jace or Wrexial or whatever else I felt like.

Lilliana is a very situational card, and this looks like the perfect situation for it.

There's a pretty cool card called Last Kiss that would be quite apt for this deck. Not sure if it fits in with the amount of things you have going on but it's quite a nice card for the theme =]

Also Kiss of Death and Soul Kiss!

wow you need get this deck down to around at least 75 cards. But its a sweet idea otherwise. You should think about putting a couple jace's erasure's in it to.

If you could check out a couple of my decks and give me some advice i'd appreciate it. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=156227

Yeah, I thought about Jace's Erasure. I might at some point, or sideboard it, because I play a fair number of people that violently hate mill as a win condition, and Jace's Erasure in this says that my opponents don't have a deck anymore. I don't like mill either really, but it's an effective tactic. It works, and there just isn't alot that protects from it. Eldrazi gods, Elixir of Immortality, Feldon Cane, Quest for Ancient Secrets. I know it's a pretty big deck, but this isn't made to be competetive. It's fun for me, and there's enough fun stuff in here that it's great in casual. Albrek made a very trimmed down version of this, and while I'm sure it works, it's not quite what I wanted to do w/ the deck, though I figure it runs fairly smoothly. Search Jace/Liliana synergy v2 or something like that, it should show up.

Wow, very awesome idea. I think I will make an extended for-real deck (not meant as offense, i think this deck was more for flavor and fun than for playing is all) around this concept, seems cool. I'll test for a little, but check out my decks, I hope you like some. I'll let you know when I finish too.

It is not intended to win in 1 on 1 games. Because the effects hit all opponents, it is far better played in a casual multi. This requires me not to be targetted early on. I have to build a mana base to counter the bigger stuff. If I don't get Caress out by the time I'm having everyone draw an ungodly number of cards, this deck is relatively ineffective. I generally have a counter or 2 in hand, but it's not guaranteed for every situation.

I have won exactly 1 head to head game, but it was against a Grixis control deck, and ryan1028 played as if I had counters in hand every time I left mana open for them. That's the only reason I wasn't wiped by turn 8 or so. It's fun, casual. I play all of my decks. Everything I build on here I have in real life. The cards are in my backpack or shelf.
