Deck Description

Mess with your opponents mind by flooding the board with morph and manifest creatures. watch as their boards slowly diminish as you continue to gain advantage. they have to decide if the morph is gonna kill their big guy, counter their spell or is just a scary raptor hiding as a wee morph creature. if you like combat tricks and the look of frustration on your opponents face, this deck is for you.

How to Play

Basically your looking to run your opponent out of resources. The deck is mean if cards aren't answered, games can end quick. dromoka's command is great as its adding counters, removing guys, or removing that pesky silkwrap. mantis rider is kinda of a problem game one, but that gets better after sideboard. lots of fun combat tricks, especially if you hit your land drops. hidden dragon slayer can sometimes be a 3 for 1 and net you life. den protector is kind of a win condition, as he can can usually go unblocked. utilizing anafenza's bolster triggers you can make him a 4/3 quite easily.

sideboard is basically bring in surge if there is targets, negate, disdainful stroke, stratus dancer all have a 1u cost. makes leaving up 1U scarier. evolutionary leap is an all-star vs control decks or heavy removal decks.

decks fun, i recommend it as it hits aggressive play styles and control play styles. I for one love a good grindy game. Thanks for reading. thoughts and ideas welcomed and appreciated.

Deck discussion for raptor games

Played a few games. the life gain is unreal. turn two you can play any of the two drops and be ok. ideally you want anafenza followed by a deathmist to get some pressure on. then just drop morphs down to trigger anafenza and bring back deathmists. removal consists of hidden dragonslayer ( super fun, can often get you a two for one), valorous stance ( saves your guys and kills big stuff), and dromoka's command. temur sabertooth helps recycle your morphs for more effects or get deathmists back. whisperwood helps vs board clears and clogging up the board. mastery of the unseen starts raking in life points quickly. land a second one and your gaining 10 to 20 a turn. sagu mauler because who doesn't love a surprise 6/6 trample hexproof with a counter on it most likely. Side board built with aggro and stalemates in mind. feed the clan serves a double purpose, to help vs aggro and also to boost my life a lil quicker to hit a surprise end step felidar sovereign. Happy with the deck so far. Any tips appreciated

Very nice deck it certainly does look very solid I was also looking at making an Abzan Felidar/Mastery with blue splash, slightly different of course but still somewhat similar! There is a lot of G/W splash goodstuff on the go at the mo.

The only card I'd fully drop is the Archangel of Tithes, as great as her ability is I don't know what decks that see much play are really that concerned by her; I think another Felidar has better synergy in the deck.
Might also reduce the Whisperwoods by 1, 3 of them should be enough to reliably see play and that'll open up a slot for.... well something.

Secret Plans might fit in the deck, would certainly offer some serious draw potential and you are in colour for it.

Last thing I might suggest is switching Negate for Disdainful Stroke, I'm assuming (so I might well be very wrong) that it's there mainly for countering board sweeps, Stroke covers all the board sweepers too and more than a couple big creatures too, the Naturalize's you've got along with Dromaka's Command you have mainboarded probably cover Artifact/Enchantments enough that Negate doesn't serve that function.

Not a problem, hopefully not given you bad advice!
If you're likely to play it on FNM I'd be interested to hear how it does, good luck!

went 4-0 at fnm. beat a uw control fairly easily. he just ran out of removal. evolutionary leap performed great. then i played a mardu kinda of deck with lots of warriors and that black flier that pumps all their guys. mastery of the unseen and hidden dragon slayer were all-stars. played a ub eldrazi control deck that couldnt keep up with deathmists and played jeskai black in finals. went 2-1 losing to a jace emblem after some mana screw but came back to win the next two in a quick fashion. overall went great. people got very fustrated to say the least. in the jeskai game i actually had the mana to sink into mastery of the unseen to out race two annoying mantis riders. they would swing for 6 and i would un morph to gain 5+. stratus dancer countered 2 languishes and the disdainful stroke flip den protector mini loop was sweet. temur sabertooth played big parts when ever he hit the field. i think a couple 4 drops are needed just because i seem to have to put rattleclaw out on turn 2 alot so i cant hit turn 4 whisperwood alot. any suggestions??

First, congratulations! - & thanks for the results, those are always appreciated (can't give you my +1, 'cause I did that about a week ago). Are you looking for something to drop for 4, or morph? Assuming the former, since you're getting Rattleclaw out consistently on 2, have you thought about creatures w/ converge? You could have a 4/4 vanilla flying brick (Skyrider Elf) or a 6/6 w/ vigilance & trample (Woodland Wanderer). Salt Road Ambushers has an ability that's relevant to your morphers, & you could either cast it t4 or morph it t5. There's others, but these seemed most relevant to your deck (if you're looking for more creatures). Great deck, here's wishing you continued success w/ it!

updated. just went 4-0 at fnm again tonight. did have one bye. played against a mono green ramp brew won fairly handily on the back of deathmist and dromoka command. game 2 was vs a rg ramp dragons deck and won quickly match one with 2 deathmists, match 2 he got me with dragon master outcast after three dragons were made. match 3 i was able to keep pressure early and had a timely flip of hidden dragon slayer to win. game 3 was vs an ally brew. lets just say if you don't stop a turn 4 whisperwood, things get out of hand. that was a quick win. match 2 was a bit more of a game than the last match but, whisperwood ended up manifesting my dragonlord and when i flipped him up i gained 5 life ( mastery of unseen trigger) got my deathmist back and swung in for the win a turn later.

took out temur sabertooth, moved the stratus dancers to the sideboard and decided to try to add a little bit of red and try out savage knucklehead to see if it helps distract them when i leave my mana up. plus a 4/4 beater on 3 is pretty cool, hasted on turn 4 can be brutal. ill update again after some testing.

Congrats on the repeat wins again!

Out of curiosity does anyone at your local area play Abzan? Only reason I ask is since Anafenza the Foremost is seeming to be a half decent card against Megamorph decks for my local area and can be a sideboard option in Megamorph for mirror matches; even in worse case scenario it's a 4/4 for 3 that makes your Den Protector even harder to block.
