Deck Description

Just a Blue/Red deck i've put together (My first finished deck)

Let me know what you think guys!

Im really tempted to play a few Grim Lavamancers in here but dunno where to fit them in? if indeed they would improve the deck?

Im worried they may interfere with the ideas and gameplan of my Snapcaster Mages?

Plus im open for all suggestions on a possible sideboard ? :)

Deck discussion for Rage burning Blue

I don't get the point in having the delver in here if he's not your main combo. You should be focusing on boosting the Delver.

I can see where your coming from!

But i just see Delver as a pretty solid choice for this aggro deck because he's a one-drop and with the amount of instants and sorceries in this deck it won't take long for it to transform! and a 3/2 flier for 1 mana is a powerful quick creature whether boosted or not!

but thats just my opinion.

what would u suggest doing with it?

I'd use the runechanter's pike since you're running instants and sorceries.

I have 2 in mine and I'd cut down the Snapcaster. He's removing spells from your graveyard. Also, you need a board wipe. I have Blasphemous Act, but If I had it. I'd use bonfire of the damned.

Hmm i appreciate the suggestions but im not sure i wanna cut my snapcasters cos i like being able to recast my cheap spells that can do quick and powerful damage e.g. lightning bolts. I like the ideas of the runechanters pike but id prefer the ability to recast spells than pump a couple creatures because combat damage is probs slightly easier to prevent that damage from spells (through blocking etc) and ill have a look at the board wipe, seems like another solid suggestion that my deck does lack =]

Your spells are too costly. I'd use magiccards.info to search for all burn spells with converted mana cost of 1 and sub them in instead of Brimstone Volley or Incinerate. Sure, they don't do as much damage but it's all about speed. It seems to be a bit of a slow aggro deck. I'd find even faster creatures to put in instead. Also, I'm guessing you have 2 Silent Departure for the flashback? A flashback of 5 simply isn't worth it. You should run 4 Vapor Snags instead. The loss of 1 life really makes a difference. Wait to use them while your opponent is attacking to Snapcaster into a Vapor Snag. I'd Switch out the Mana Leaks for Spell Pierces and consider SB'ing your counter magic. Just find cheaper versions of everything. It seems to be an aggro deck that doesn't kick in until turn 4, which is too late, especially against other aggro.

I'd also suggest adding a few Bonfires to your SB.
