archive trap and haunting echoes are 5 mana cost spells. standard is now very fast so you can't even play them sometimes. 8 5-mana cost is too much. maybe 3 of each. Nihil Spellbomb and Everflowing Chalice are not as useful as a bunch of counterspells

Your being to judgmental based on mana cost, but in my meta an Archive Trap costs 0 to play 9 times out of 10. With trapmakers Snare it will cost 2 at the most because I can search it out then cast it. If I can mill anywhere from 15 to 20 cards haunting echoes usually finishes the game.
use bloodchief ascension, only cost 1 to play. Deal at least 2 damage a turn for 3 turns then mill like crazy. They lose life and get milled while you sit there and gain life.
