Deck Description

This deck is based of the famous "Dimir mill" tactic of defeating your opponent through depleting his or her deck. This tactic (though no longer standard legal) is amazing when paired with creatures like consuming abberation and kill spells. Have fun with the House of Dimir

How to Play

Just focus in bringing your opponents deck down. Everybody and everything work together every well to archive that. So have fun milling!

Deck discussion for Dimir Mill

Question before I start throwing out ideas and recommendations, are you trying to push this into being a competitive deck?

Nope suggest away. I'm just a new magic player trying to make a casual fun but playable deck.

Well, if we go in the way I know more about, which would be the competitive idea, I would build this to be this hardcore control type deck, with milling your opponent out being the win condition.

Like no creatures, wraths, counterspells, that kinda control.

Well with my small experience its proven best to have a few large possible blockers when running a Dimir style deck because of the red/green arggo that has been popping up at my game shop. Since I do play casual and have almost zip comp skills I'll assume you know what your talking about lol. If you have any card suggestings for the deck or side board is be glad to hear them!

Well to go full control these are gonna be your musts:
Cryptic Command
Remand
Mana Leak
Spell Snare
Snapcaster Mage
Damnation

These will probably be the base of a control shell in U/B

For milling your opponent to death, Glimpse is the most powerful, albeit being a sorcery, Thought Scour works, and you can have the Nephalia Drownyards in the main to give continuous mill.

You can then fill things up with Disruption and removal, stuff like Thoughtseize, Inquisition of Kozilek, Slaughter Pact, Dismember, Ultimate Price, Victim of Night, Go For The Throat, various edicts.

Thanks! That seems like would really do well with those modifications. The only problem is a few of the cards ex. glimpse the unthinkable are no longer legal in standard so a little but of a problem.

This deck wasn't standard originally, I was setting this up as a Modern list.

Oh alright I see I see. Yeah that should make the deck pretty much set. I think I'll leave those one as it is for casual play but I'll start putting together a comp version.
