Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

(BMF stands for Big Mother "Firetruck"ing btw)

The idea of this deck is to basically get out a Master of the Pearl Trident, then using Clones, Cackling counterparts, (and maybe Evil Twins) to get heaps of copies so they give merfolks (including each other) +10/+10 and islandwalk.... and if that isn't good enough for u, summon stormtide leviathan and only my islndwalking 15/15 creatures can attack.

Also, i am to understand RTR is bringing a new blue black shapeshifter so we will see how that goes.

Haha thats awesome that you used the surprise stormtide leviathan in your deck, cause I used the exact same surprise in my standard merfolks. I took a bit of a different approach as opposed to your all out-big beefy merfolks.

I use blue control in mine and just completely and utterly lockdown his creatures for free swings (in the event that you dont play against an island player, and the fact that levi costs quite a bit).

Heres the link to my merfolk:

Redirect seems like it is potentially a dead card in your hand depending on the meta.

Some of the new blue overload cards in RTR might be worth running. Maybe even in place of Stormtide. I think they'd more reliably make sure your Scroll Thieves can get through earlier in the game.

Unfortunately there arent any blue/black cards in RTR, you wont see that guild until the next set. Blue/white might be worth looking into though if you wanted to play with more control.

Dimir and Orzhov are my guilds. Azorius and Izzet will be here friday with overload and detain. Nothing like overloading a blistersqual and then swinging. I agree with Tal on Redirect. It's iffy. Since you've splashed black, why not add some creature kill. Even a little bit of control wouldn't be bad. You can always sb ideas for later use. Maybe try -4 clone, -2 talrand, +3 murder, +3 negate.

There is a 0/1 merfolk I believe that allows you to gain control of opponents creature as long as it remains tapped. I use to run a couple of them to pound my opponent with his own creatures incase he doesn't have islands. Can't remember what its called. You could always sideboard some if needed
