This design is very much in flux. I started with the challenge to develop a creatureless deck from the newest set. Why is it 5-color? Don't know. That's how it came together as I went along. However, once it became clear that was going to be the case, I began to adjust the design accordingly. First, it makes Exert Influence more potent. Then, since I knew I would want a lot of land for mana-reliability, I began to focus on the "Retreat-" cards. The red and white ones don't cater to a non-creature deck. Plus, since this deck is designed to defend and control the board, at least in the early stage, I feel the mana demands are tolerable. The awaken cards, the rolling thunder, and to a small degree Retreat to Hagra are the offense. I'm sure I will adjust this deck in the future once I start playing it.
