Deck Description

By using Grand Architects ability to ramp into artifacts and to cast most of your cards. The problem is he has a big target on his head so i added birthing pod which takes so much focus off of him. Doing very well with my build just looking for thoughts and opinions...

Deck discussion for 13-1 Architect Birthing Pod

The idea behind my side is to side into Architect Control. Mainly when i start seeing art hate. The deck has no problems vs any control just aggro, which is still winnable when u side.
The best combo is turn 5 sheoldred into turn 6 elesh norn if needed. been winning very consitantly with my build. I LOVE THIS DECK.....

When you say you turn 5 sheoldred into a turn 6 norn is that because hes in your graveyard because if u pod sheoldred your forced to take a 8cmc if i am not mistaken

Hey thanks for the suggestions on my illusion deck. I guess you didn't see i play standard though :P. other than that though. Nice deck, looks like it has some potential. I haven't seen many constructed that work or can handle a constant onslaught of damage.

Damn, I'd love to try out this deck if those damn spellskites wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg!
Looks very promising indeed!

I did try running this many colors but i always seemd to bet getting screwed over on one color or another. This is def a different take on Pod. I know in my build I ramp mana pretty quick, but with the Architect looks like it goes pretty quick. The only they i see is there's no removal that could propose problems, but this is a good build. i love x Phyrexian Metamorph hes just so amazing and i tell you why, I was playing another pod deck and I was not drawing into my pod, and just used the Metamorph to clone his and then i o-ringed his lol. Just awesome.

The thing is with my build the only color that the deck relies on is blue. There is only 5 cards that aren't or cant be casted by blue which are mainly pod targets. And yes Architect Pod is faster than other pod decks in my experience. Turn 5 Sheoldred into turn 6 elesh is bad ass and happens alot. Metamorph is boss i love him also, my favorite standard card at the moment...
On the removal subject myr does damage early which targets creature or player
spellskite stops alot of there removal
glissa brings your threats back
Archon removes anything on the field period
wurmcoil has deathtouch which removes
Sheoldred is creature removal every turn and recures yours
Elesh is pretty much board wipe
sounds like removal to me

This looks pretty solid.... The Pod deck and the Architect deck are my favorite decks in standard, and although I knew about this combination, i never saw it at work.
I think yo should have some Birds of paradise here. they are great for turn 2 pod, then later finding 2 drops and start getting crazy with the pod.

Tried birds didnt care for them since most of my mana base is blue or a sort of blue and i rarely see the bird. I already get every thing out super fast anyways so hes not needed and if i did work him in the mana base would be all screwy then the rest of the deck wouldnt work so well. im really trying to stay out of green all together except for pod of course.

Best comment I can give is remove an Archon for an Obliterator, he really can spit on aggro with the pod.

These 2 changes are extremely minor but I really dont see you needing more than 2 treasure mages. I also would drop 1 buried ruin. When you are running this many colors 3 colorless lands aren't a good thing when you could be running 1 more dual land.

well ive dropped 2 forest for 2 hinterland harbors (on order) never will i drop any more buried ruin saves my ass more than not.

Wow... I see why this deck has been winning so much. Pretty dang well built. I agree though with Agnorak, you should put in another blue land of some kind just to make sure you get the blue mana. Vorinclex seems like he would be a great option to this deck because once he comes out (and that would be easy with this deck) he could wreck some serious havoc. Those are pretty much my only good suggestions.

Maybe consider running 2 mana leaks and 2 turn asides. I always feel like they have the 3 lands open whenever i have a mana leak. And turn aside owns at protecting your grand architect and brithing pod, while also letting you play maybe an extra spell on your turn. Just an idea :o i think imma try running this deck. And then post again deciding if the turn asides would be better. <3

I have a deck just like this, but i usually run only artifacts that are only creatures, so i can use both my engines (pod and architect) to ramp/tutor for them. I originally had mindslaver main, but found it didnt have as much synergy as something like steel hellkite.
Just a thought....
