The 260 card deck win

by brdenis on 11 April 2012

Main Deck (260 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

i really wanted to see someone show up with a 260 card deck in a tournament and win something...

tutor battle of wits, win! draw a few hands and see for yourself

ridiculous as that, blame wizards for the stupid card.

if you know any tutors i missed or any idea to make it faster please share :)

added psychatog as a backup plan, inspired by Jon Finkel

If everything goes wrong just Invincible Hymn and gain 250+ life (Thanks to Kazzong for the idea!)

Why so many land?

just put in all the "any card tutors" and enchantment tutors, the rest are lands... if you know anything else that would make this run faster i can add :D

Academy Rector, BWU Dual Lands (The ones that produce red and green, for the Bringer and to replace the basice lands). Imperial Seal and Vampiric Tutor are restricted in Vintage and banned in legacy.

You might want to add a Trench Gorger to get all that land out of your deck (70% of your deck is land). But I would never have been able to make such a deck, would you comment on my decks too? Thanks!

if the trench gorger eat all is the islands the deck would go under 200 cards so i couldnt win with battle of wits ;/

You would win with Trench Gorger ;/

i have trench gorgers on this deck http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=300182

usually i use him when i got at least 4 lands down cause its all that needs, so he comes 16/16, but most of the time hes destroyed by the time he hits the table

trench gorger doesn't work to beat this;) "search YOUR library". anyway this is not the best way to win:( just a manaleak and you're dead:D oh and too many lands

hmmm... I guess Lim-Dul's Vault if you are willing to pay a bit (maybe a lot) of life, then there is beseech the queen, brainspoil (transmute), mystical tutor (if you are ok with tutoring for a tutor), academy rector (although you will have to find a way to kill it), and lost auramancers... just some ideas

1
Posted 22 April 2012 at 04:07

Awesome ideas man, added lim dul and bessech.

The transmute from brainspoil fits like a glove! also mystical tutor is a one drop so its definitely worth tutoring a tutor.

Academy rector is great too, ill think of something to kill it and ill add as well.

thanks again!

Planar Portal; every turn tutor FTW (but {6} to play, then {6} more to use, ugh. Better in mana ramping decks).
Also, Sterling Grove has a built in {1}:sac to tutor for an enchantment

1
Posted 22 April 2012 at 22:04

Also, a little risky (artifact creates an exiled draw pile), but consider Skyship Weatherlight. Since you only need one card, it would cost {4} to play and {4} to draw your one card.

1
Posted 22 April 2012 at 22:14

Night Dealings tutors, but requires you to do damage to player= converted mana cost of card you want to fetch. This allows you to tutor for 0 cost cards right away (for {b}{b}{2}), but can't find anything useful to do with that. Investing cards in doing damage would be a waste... just thinking.

0
Posted 22 April 2012 at 23:39

Portal is too slow, the game should be over by the time i have 6th land :D

Sterling Grove would be awesome to have! but it has that green cost, maybe we can figure it out a smooth way to get that in

Aand what about 'cascade' cards; Ardent Plea, Kathari Remnant, Stormcaller's Boon, Deny Reality, and Enigma Sphinx are all in your colors.

1
Posted 22 April 2012 at 23:46

cascades are nice to play a low mana tutor! ill check those out and try to add the ones that fit better :D

0
Posted 23 April 2012 at 00:41

althou due to the amount of lands on the deck it might not cascade much haha

0
Posted 23 April 2012 at 01:16

"Cascade (When you play this spell, remove cards from the top of your library from the game until you remove a nonland card that costs less. You may play it without paying its mana cost. Put the removed cards on the bottom in a random order.)"

Cascade skips the land cards; so its not exactly tutor, but will not stop on any of the 151 lands in the deck.

ops, you're right, mind playing tricks on me lol

if you mill 61 cards out of my deck i cant beat you with battle of wits anymore lol :D

You could counter mill with pyschic spiral. Would be pretty funny actually.

Great idea! I mean, if you took out the Imperial Seal's and the Grim Tutor's, then it'd be an affordable deck (To an extent :P)

I'd suggest taking out Mystical Tutor, since it's the only Tutor in here that can't search for Battle of Wits.

Besides that, great deck!

1
Posted 23 April 2012 at 15:09

yeah its not a cheap one even without imperial and grim, ill probably take them out when i find a suitable replacement :D

Mystical tutor was mentioned above as it can be used to search for other tutors in case i didn't get any in draw

yeah with a little bit of luck and a dark ritual it can be faster but turn 6 is a sure win :D

i've always wanted to do a deck with unhinged and such editions cards lol

0
Posted 24 April 2012 at 01:14

yeah. The sad thing is, that some of them really are just plain broken, like combo player, and Mana Screw. But, it would be way fun to do a deck entirely out of them. :) perhaps other than lands.

ya, if u want to spend a year's savings on this deck, fine by me

0

Might I suggest an Elixir of Immortality or two? In case, for whatever reason, you don't currently have 200 in your deck by the time Battle gets out. Also, Greater Auramancy can help protect your Battle of Wits. In fact, if you used Enchanted Evening, it would help protect everything.

1
Posted 24 April 2012 at 05:21

great idea man! Enchanted Evening its a bit of overkill, but added greater auramancy for sure! thanks!

0

You might wanna add a bit of control in this just so your opponent doesn't destroy your win condition.

Force of Will
Daze
Foil
Remand
Spell Snare (things like Disenchant)

And some filtering;

Ponder
Forbidden Alchemy
Serum Visions
Preordain

just remembered another card that might be usefull here. shrine of piercing vision.

0

and you could put in 4 halimar depths as well. allows you to look t and rearange the top 3 cards of your library when it comes into play. just a thought.

0
Posted 24 April 2012 at 20:48

You could just run 1 Battle of Wits and like 250 islands. Mulligan until you land the battle of wits, always draw an island and play it, win turn 6.

0
Posted 25 April 2012 at 04:28

the only problem with that is that you only have a finite number of mulligans, and they could still destroy the battle of wits on their turn, crushing any chance of winning.

random thought. a good card to put in here would be leyline of anticipation, so that you could actually do that, by playing the battle of wits during their end-step.

1
Posted 25 April 2012 at 04:38

also great idea Kazzong, Leyline added!

0
Posted 25 April 2012 at 21:24

something else that you could do if you wanted to run that way is with treasure hunt. look at the top car of your library until you reveal a non land card, put all of those cards in your hand. Lol. :)

0

Wow.

This deck is nuts - and it also looks very effective ;D
Do you actually have all the card to build it?

Honestly, I don't think I could improve on this, just the sheer number of tutor's will get around pretty much any discard/counter deck.
About the only thing I can think of that may help would be Sundial of the Infinite, to get you to your upkeep immediately once you drop the Wits.

Any chance you could help me improve my deck?

nice idea! but if it can only be used on my turn, it would get it right to the opponents upkeep right?

0
Posted 25 April 2012 at 21:19

yeah, its a clever idea but you do only end it on your turn so it wouldnt help.

On a serious note, I might recommend Sterling Grove... That card also lets you search for your enchantment, battle of wits.

if this were a 60 card deck, you would have like 34 lands and 26 actual spells. I don't understand!
