Deck discussion for Fate is Fickle..

<- forgot Word of Command existed.... @_@

This is a pretty neat Vintage deck, very unique as well.

word of command is pretty nice lol it was originally just going to be a control/prison deck that used Fatespinner, Sen Triplets, and Word of command, but then i saw balance and put it in there... thats when i decided to make this vintage lol

Thanks! how do you think it would run?

It's pretty neat, and it has good tech, but I dunno how well it'd run for competitive play. However, your casual group would probably despise you if you ever sleeved it up. Hell, I'd hate to go against it using my Legacy tourney decks >_<

haha my playgroup wouldn't play a second game with me if i pulled this baby out! What changes would you suggest to make it more "Tourney Quality"?

Thats quite the praise! i would love to face some of your legacy decks, they look pretty brutal lol

Speed. If this deck could improve on one thing, it's a kill clock. Maybe some disruption, but that's really a personal preference.

And I think it would be very interesting to pit my decks against yours as well. I think yours are a bit more brutal myself, but maybe that's because I'm the one running my decks...

haha i will work on the speed thing!

haha what do you mean "a bit more brutal"? Thats high praise for me!

Seriously, I think overall your designs are more brutal. I mean look at this for instance, holy @#$% is this mean!

Thanks! {]=] this deck will be a long work in progress considering the unwillingness my playgroup will have about playing it lol but it willl hopefully get more brutal

I kinda get what WnB means. It might be something with being an Extractor, but I've noticed some people have "signatures" to their decks. Yours tend to have a more...violent nature to them by comparison. It's not as severe as Wumps, who can't even add controlling aspects without them being for aggressive reasons, but it's more than WnB, who, while making a mono-black aggro deck...turned it into a Braids Lock...

A violent nature?! lol i'm still slightly confused:p

Pushed a little bit closer to instability for the sake of more power.

It's even worse now Sure, I tried making MBA, and wound up deciding I want to try black stax XD

And stability isn't for pansies, it is for control freaks :P

lol well i am definitely not a control freak but i do enjoy control on the occasion:)

What is this STAX i keep hearing about?

0

Stax is a breed of artifact decks, designed to abuse effects like Smokestack, Tanglewire, and Spheres. In Legacy they're few and far between sadly, and right now they're really not a bad choice of deck. In vintage, variants of Stax are among the most popular decks, usually being Mishra's Workshop based decks.

Stax decks are in the same school of decks as the old Nether Void lockdowns, they try and create tempo, or control. Either works really, as it's simply astounding how much of either they can generate per turn.

The main branches of Stax are White, and MUD. MUD being a better choice IMO, but White makes a solid game nonetheless. I plan to be attempting an interesting Contamination/Stax hybrid, or could possibly go a Pox fueled route.

Hmmmm welll i think i'll also try to make one of those type'a decks... i'll have to do some research though to have any hope, i really have never heard of the deck type before:p

MUD means colorless right? or am i assuming wrong?

Yeah, bastard artifacts...Named because most of the artifacts used in it have that old background that looks like mud. Believe it or not, ragged has a MUD that is pretty damn mean.

hey thanks! it's a pretty sweet deck, but i think my deck wil take a little different route... somehow i want to include bloodghast.....

I like how all the comments on this deck stem from the very first one lol

I'm not going to lie, I've netdecked Joe's list for shits and giggles before. Everything went better than expected, and found a lot of connections between Stax mentality and my own Nether Void mentality.

It's a pretty fun archetype, and I've been using Joe's as a primer to help some people I'm talking to with schools of thought.(PS. Do not kill me Joe, it's non-profit, and not tourney related)

hahaha i think joe will forgive or never read this thread,

It looks like a pretty solid build and i'll definitely draw some of my deck from it, but for some reason everytime i read the word "sacrifice" on a card bloodghast comes to mind, so i'm gonna try and go black with this stax i'm working on now=p

Maybe try Bob (Dark Confidant). I haven't done much legacy/vintage yet, so I don't really have much insight. Maybe even an Entirpate or two. I don't even know how this deck is supposed to play.

WOW, I meant Extirpate...I guess I wasn't paying much attention when I was typing.

You know how they'll never get on the top? By spamming your decks on other peoples' without a single look at them beyond how many likes they have.

It's pathetic really.

Hehehe, I realize I kinda did that, without a link.

I really don't appreciate when people do that, but I understand where they're coming from.

I check the upcoming list alot and if I can't offer help on some of the decks, I try to "bump" them to the front page, so others can see the deck and give their advice.
