You need to check out the article on Transformational Sideboards on magic: the gathering.com Because as soon as game 1 is over, your opponenet is going to sideboard in a TON of creature removal. So, make a Pyromancers Ascension sideboard, and then sideboard in ALL 15 of your sideboard cards. It will make your deck unstoppable, even against control decks.

Good work man!

The whole point of this website is to create new and exciting decks, using any and all cards available. It doesn't matter if he sideboards 4x Black Lotus in here, because this deck only exists on the INTERNET!

To the OP, your deck is fairly sick. The odds of you pulling off one of those turn one combo's are fairly small, as are all turn 1 combo decks. But if it does succeed, then congrats.

I made a deck like this, except I did U/R for more control in case the opponent has an answer for my Splinter Twins or Fireballs. You might want to throw in a playset of Comet Storm. It's the same as Fireball except with one more Red Mana cost. But having 8 X damage spells that target the player means you're more likely to draw into one early so you can kill the opponent faster.

Good looking deck man!

The glimmerposts are kind of unnecessary I think. Probably should replace them with Fetchlands to thin down your deck, or maybe some Mystifying Mazes for more Control.

Instead of running Cancels and Stoic Rebuttals, try instead Mana Leaks and Stoic Rebuttals. Mana leak works a little better I think.

The Basilisk Collar is nice, but kind of useless without a creature to Ping your enemy's creatures. maybe splash red for some Cunning Sparkmages?

You might want to check out some Argent Sphinxes as well - Metal craft ability gives them a one Blue Mana blink ability. With Metalcraft they're nigh on impossible to kill.

You definitely need some dual lands: Celestial Colonnades, Glacial Fortresses, etc. Some fetchlands to thin your deck would be nice too. Things like Misty Rainforest or Arid Mesa's.

I don't quit understand the purpose of the Lone Missionaries, besides the life gain. They're okay, but it would be better to remove them and play with another Jace and some more Card Draw - things like Preordain and Foresee.

The Contagion Clasps seem rather strange as well. Proliferating your Planeswalkers is fine and dandy, but wouldn't you rather have even more control with some Brittle Effigy's? Or maybe another win condition with Chimiric Mass and Trinket Mage?

I would run with a Playset of Mana Leaks and Condemns. Some bounces would be nice - Into the Roil or Oust. Also, Journey to Nowhere to remove their big threats from existence.

Overall, it's a decent deck, and you have some of the major players that belong in a U/W Control deck, but with just a little bit of tweaking it can become ridiculous.

Cheers. :)

The Memnites and Ornithopters serve no purpose in a U/W Control deck. They should be removed completely.

You're counter magic is a little off. I prefer running 4 Mana Leaks, 4 Condemns, 2 Ousts, and 2 Stoic Rebuttals (Or Cancels, if you like). The 4 Negates you shouldn't worry about, they can be sideboarded.

Rather than Arrests, you should get some Journey to Nowhere or Brittle Effigy's. They work better in my opinion.

And Finally, Day of Judgment is almost a must have in this situation.

Feel free to check out my U/W Control decks: http://mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=104405 and this one: http://mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=111474

The second deck is the one that I am in the process of building, but is much more powerful than the first deck.

Good luck. :)

The mill decks strategy is this: Build a nice "wall" and then destroy the opponents deck without letting them touch your life total. Unfortunately, I don't think you have a sufficient enough "wall."

Fywdyl is right - as soon as those crabs are dead to removal your momentum is gone. You should try some other cards instead. Two Traumatizes work wonders against any deck. Only two though. After that the mana cost is to high for the amount of cards you're milling.

You might also wish to try some Archive Traps. Five mana for 13 garunteed milled cards, but with a nice ability to be cast for 0 mana. And since most everyone runs fetch lands and Search cards, it is usually a good investment.

Good luck with your deck, and happy milling. :)

I disagree entirely. Flashfreeze (and by extension, Celestial Purge) are very important in a U/W Control deck. Assuming you don't know that your opponent is running G/R Elf Ramp or whatever. After Game 1, you side board in the Flashfreezes, and all of a sudden your counter spells become infinitely faster.

As for what I like, I love the Admonition Angels. Rather than Halimar Depths (I don't personally like the card) I would play Terramorphics. Once you get an Admonition Angel (or two) on the field, the Terramorphic Expanses become insanely powerful. The ability to exile TWO permanents for ONE land is epic.

Frost Titan = Best Titan. Way to go there. :)

Personally, I don't mainboard Negates, as I feel they are too specific. I would run more straight counters, perhaps another Condemn. You may want to check out "Oust." It's a nice Sorcery-speed creature removal that sets up well for a direct counter. And you probably don't need more than three Day of Judgments. I find myself with one or two of them in my hand, and they're just dead cards sometimes.

Looks really good. Keep up the good work! :D

In order to make this T2 with the new rotation, you need to remove the following cards:

1) Oblivion Ring
2) Elspeth, Knight-Errant
3) Essence Scatter
4) Path to Exile

I would personally run some Spreading Sea's main board. It is a brutal card, and on turn two is such a disruption it can quite literally be game ending. More Tectonic Edges are a necessity too, seeing as Valekuut Ramp is the most common archetype played in Standard right now. I would get rid of the two Sejiri Steppes, running some Tectonic Edges, or Mystifying Mazes perhaps. Replace the Elspeths with Venser or Gideon if you wish to keep the count of your Planeswalkers up. Or you could put in some more creatures. More Titans of course, but maybe some other big bombs, like Iona or something.

You should look into some Linvala, keeper of Silence for your side-board (In place of the Sea's). She comepletely shuts down Elf decks. And a 3/4 flyer for 4 isn't bad at all.

Overall, a great deck, one that I hope to copy someday (No Titans or Jace, TMS's for me at the moment).

That prototype Portal is such a ridiculous card. My dad uses it and a tumble magnet. He gets like, 12 copies, taps all my stuff, then bombs me with sunblast angel. I die a little inside every time. :(

Good looking deck. And I appreciate all of the constructive comments you got. Usually you get stuff like "this deck sux qit magik n00b."

Keep up the good work.

I made a deck very similar to this, but it uses Fireball's and Comet Storms to one hit your opponent on turn 5.

Dude, I love the Stoic Rebuttal's. Cause Counterspell is awesome. XD

Pretty good work here. I love blue, and I love speed decks. You've combined the best of both. :)

EDIT: After having actually playtested this deck, I have found that the Myr Battlespheres are usually overkill and unneccessary. I have removed them completely and instead increased the land to a total of twenty. I found myself getting mana screwed several games, and I think this is the best fix.

I might remove the Mox Opals and put in Everflowing Chalices for more mana production.

Nothing like a good 'ol Mono-Red Beatdown! I love Hoard Smelter personally, and all the Juicy artifacts in Scars make him a good card against almost every deck.

And oh my gosh I just looked up Strata Scythe. That's friggin' awesome.

Looks like a solid deck. I'd love to playtest it against my Blue/White Control deck.

Wow, I totally didn't mean to place the Myrsmiths. Thanks for pointing that out. Stupid Miss-clicks.

Mox Opal isn't something I had thought about, since I usually like to play with 24 mana rather than the like, 12 this deck runs.

So, Semblance Anvils, Some Splinter twins, and some Mox opals? I'll check em out and update accordingly. Thanks for the input guys!

If any one has any suggestions for some "Fetch artifact" cards, let me know. Those would be seriously helpful, and probably could replace the Scroll Thiefs, Battlespheres, whatever. I'll update with anything I find that might work better.
