Deck discussion for Powerful Knights

You should think about getting multiples of cards instead of keeping singles. It helps to make the deck more consistent.

I do need to be more consistent with this deck. I just don't have multiples of moat of the cards. This deck kicks some butt though. I'll work on getting it more consistent. Thanks

Hey! Nice deck you got there. I don't think you should make it more consistent by adding more of the same cards. It's more fun to play with a deck that has a arrange of different effects to use.. I would agree on making it more simple if it wasn't a casual play deck :)

Nice deck, Coat of Arms could work as a big boost for your creatures, consider adding a few. Also, Knight Exemplar is a really good card, get two more if you have the money.

I think you should drop the 2 lifelinks for 2 more honor of the pure! also some kind of combat trick would never be wrong. And maybe some more lands.

thanks for the comment on my deck!

eh, life link, cradle, and vitality probably wouldn't make the cut in my book, and neither would a few of the knights. sun titan would be a good card to top out on, as would hero of bladehold.

definitely also add some more removal in there, o-rings, journeys, etc...

throw out lionheart (unless you go up to 4 armored ascension or grab some angelic destiny)
throw out caravan escort, and probably lightwielder (though that one MAY be worth keeping in the SB)

move a few of the better ones up to 4 of, the 2/2 lifelink first strike for 2, hell yes, also try some phyrexian metamorph in there and run 4 knight exemplars, so you can make everything of everything indestructable.

from my experience with aggro, and with playing against aggro, you really want to go like this
t1: creature
t2: creature
t3: removal / alter board state
t4: creature + removal / alter board state
t5: big creature as long as you're not walking into a trap, in which case, sit and attack.

even the most aggro decks out there need cards which give them an advantage some way over the opponent.

if i were to make knights, then i'd probably rock white blue, for cards like unsummon, mana leak, phyrexian metamorph, and some draw effects. winning on turn 3 is rare but not impossible, stabalizing on 4 or 5 is not only not impossible, but very probably if you're not playing a well constructed deck. you have to have a well constructed deck and maybe lose a turn or two of your win in order to ensure your win every time, and to help make your win more consistent. :)

Some control would be nice but making blue/white just for that? I think that's far too much. And you only really need enough to control to stop the worst creatures your opponent would throw out. If you have indestructible knights you wouldn't even need that. I have a better version of this guys deck and I don't even use control and I won last night against 5 other players ending the game with almost 900 life. He should stick mono white and just drop the pointless cards and get the best knights out there.

Thanks for the ideas guys. This deck is designed so that everytime I gain life my creatures become more powerful. I'll incorporate some of your suggestions as I acquire the cards. Thanks again

I'd run 4x copies of Knight Exemplar, without question. I'd also run student of warfare. Once you have an Exemplar, and ramp him to his final level, he's a total force of nature. You should also consider 4x copies of Mirran Crusader.

I like it but to be a real knight there must be 4 Knights of the Holy Nimbus

Well to start off, I have a knight deck myself. For you to only be using 2 of each of these cards I think that is foolish. You need 4 knight exemplars easily. Some other knights you might want to check out is Knight of the White Orchid and Student of Warfare. These two knights can easily help you out much more than what you have now. Another Knight is one from the mirrodin block that has protect from black and green with double strike. I cannot remember the name, that is why I described it to you. Instead of using the lifelink and 8 life gain enchantments you could use the enchantment that says all your creatures get double strike and lifelink. That would help you out much more. I played with my knights last knight and won a game against 5 other players with almost 900 life just from that one enchantment.

I agree that running 2 of everything is foolish. The problem I'm running into is I only have 2 of each of those cards. As soon as I get more I'll start making changes. Thanks for the comments

Hi there, useful as this deck may be in it's current form there are some excellent cards that you should look at getting. Knights such as Student of Warfare, Skyhunter Skirmisher, Mirran Crusader and Knight of the white Orchard. An Enchantment card called Light from Within. Instants such as Path to Exile and Swords to Plowshares.
With these cards in you will be much more competitive with the legacy format.
Good luck!

Also because of the frequency of white mana cost symbols, i would consider light from within in place of honor of the pure.

How did this end up there?
Suggestions that I am sure somebody already said:
If possible get down to 60 cards.
Try to get 4 of the more important cards like Knight Exemplar, removing fillers like Caravan Escort or Lionheart Maverick or moving to the side Silver, White and Lightwielder for when you play against black or red.
Auras are usually considered bad because you may lose two cards if they remove your enchanted creature. Maybe you could use more Honor The Pure, Path to Exile or Oblivion Ring.
You have also good cards without much sinergy with your knights like Norn's Annex (more usefull for a control deck) that can be cut if needed.

Alright, my suggestions. I'd either go full out lifegain or just drop it entirely with the exception of the knights of meadowgrain. It depends on your meta, but I don't really see much of a use for white knight, silver knight, and lightwielder paladin unless you see a lot of red and black. Lionheart Maverick isn't very useful, seems to me like you're just filling in a one drop spot. Up the more useful cards like Knight of the White Orchid and the lords up to four. Again, back to the life gain thing, the only enchantment I'd really keep is the honor of the pure.
