Deck discussion for heartless pod

Heartless Summoning + Myr Superion is one of my favorite combos >:D . I'd say, take out a Mikaeus and a vengeful Pharaoh, and add in a few more kill spells, like Go for the throat and Doom Blade. and Probably a Black Sun if you're stumped against aggro tokens. overall, it looks really good!

Possible Unburial rites and splash Isolated chapel/shimmering grotto?

dont really want to slpash white, kind of want to keep mikaeus, he cancels out heartless and lets my creatures stay on the field when i sack them to the pod but i guess i can get rid of the pharoah and add black sun to my sideboard

I like it! I'll think of suggestions for this later on today when I get home. It seems pretty good from a quick glance-over, however. :)

Nice job!

I really like the pod idea here with heartless. Sheoldred can be really fun in these types of decks too.

Intriguing. I would be wary of Grafdigger's Cage, though. If I were you, I'd sideboard a few Naturalizes, seeing as you have no red.

I dont know what the guy up there is saying but DO NOT get rid of pharoah, pharoah is about the most useful card since, EVER hes useful in the grave too, and thats hard to find, i have a very similar deck with a place set of him, just with out the birthing pod. instead of doomblade do go for the throat and dismember, the skinrenders excellent, i also have a play set of him. i also have a sheoldred and two mikaeuses , its a little scary how similar mine is lol, but dont get rid of any mikaeuses they are a ridiculous combo with sheoldred and skinrenders, this my friend is an excellent deck. you just about inspired me to add some birthing pods to my heartless!

how would you get myr superion onto the feild with no myr cards anywhere else?

0

Heartless Summoning makes the casting cost of Myr Superion zero so it no longer needs creature mana to be cast.

also I can use diregraf ghoul and birthing pod to get it on the field.

Pod decks are so sexy.
I tried to make a heartless deck. I hated it.
But hold on.
Heartless doesn't serve Pod too well, for doesn't it just kill all your squishy things before you can sac them to the pod?
GOD pod is sexy.

Not with Mikaeus giving his creatures +1/1, also, Im thinking that he would not need to cast a squishy to use pod if Heartless is on the table.

or per say, I put a heartless summoning out second turn, maybe one or 2 myr superions if its a good hand, bloodgift demon third turn and play and use pod fourth turn to get out either wurmcoil or mikaeus. or cast them from hand fourth turn. one or the other happens about every one in three games

Just a quick question. Why do you have geth's verdict removal mainboarded and your direct removal sideboarded? I know geth's is good against geist, invisible, and prot creatures, but i feel direct removal could be more handy in more situations. is it based on what people at your fnm are currently playing?

I'm wondering cause i have a mono-black deck i've been preparing for my local fnm.

I run geth's verdict mainboard so I can always kill a creature when its in hand. Its also a dependent loss of one life. It does not seem like much but it has won me two games. I generally sideboard out at least one or 2.

The biggest problem I had with Heartless Pod and Superion is that if you don't have the Pod out, it is a dead card in your hand. Without mana-dorks he is iffy, Might try Viridian Emissary, works with or without the Heartless or the Pod, plus with them, it nets you mana

It may be a dead card if you don't have a heartless summoning, but i can just discard it to lili of the veil and if i have a heartless summoning it beats fast and hard

another thought is if you are podding enough, Tragic Slips could be amazing.
