Beatdown on a budget.With Khans here sadly we lose some excellent budget green items (giant growth, fog,ect) but that just makes a deck like this all the more surprising. Keep swinging away til your opponent is dead is the motto this deck applies, while most people are going with tri-colored clans and slowing down their game you get to stomp down on people with a turn 4 8/8 trample coming into play (provided you got two elves). When I saw Terra Stomper spoiled I thought that was going to be such a menace but little did I know people solely ran towards Nissa, Genesis Hydra, and Chord of Calling for M15 Green and completely ignored the opportunity of such a huge, UNCOUNTERABLE creature early on. I mean a six mana 8/8 trample... are you kidding me?I haven't seen him played at all so when I build this budget deck no one will see him coming. That's when Titanic Growth and Aspect of Hydra come in real handy ;)

Swarmborn giant, while an excellent beater, is way too risky. May I suggest you replace it with Arbor Colossus? It gives flying removal and also reach, and is better on the devotion. Albeit it being an extra mana, it seems like a safer play imo. See also Heroes' Bane. Still 5 mana but would be a decent late game option to pump any additional mana intoEDIT: Am I overlooking something or what? Why does Gather Courage have Convoke?

You can tap a green creature to make Gather Courage a free card. Also I agree, arbor colossus is a much better card to choose for that slot, Swarmborn Giant is just way too risky to use.

Yep, weird that the entire first page of the Hot Decks was removed to the second page, and decks with no comments (but somehow with 5-6 likes) all made it to the top of the list. MTGvault is weird sometimes.

Kalonian Tusker and Nykthos need in this deck.
kalonian is already rotated and not standard , but yeah nykthos is really needed
Its 2014, won't rotate until next year.
As far as I know, they changed the rotation schedule. Currently only Theros, Khans, and M15 are standard. (I think)
True M14 is not standard

Life's legacy has nothing to do with gaining life it's for drawing ton of cards. RTFC
Instead of the Swarmborn Giant, I would actually use Arbor Colossus, as it is the same P/T and for only one more mana. Its monstrosity makes it even more of a beater, plus it allows you to outright destroy a flyer which could easily become very useful.Other than that, I would say this is a very potent deck build.
to be honest green is my second best color to play with and this is one of the best mono green standard decks i have seen in a while. i agree that arbor colossus would be a better replacement for swarmborn giant. either that or maybe one of the hydras from theros. congrats i may look into building a modern green deck with terra stomper in it at this point lol. and i agree with your statement i don't get why so many people went for those other green cards they are good but some of them(nissa) are way to expensive. terra stomper is impressive. ^_^
Thanks for all the comments everyone! I have changed out the Swarborn Giants for Arbor Colossi like many of you suggested, it's over 20 bucks now but I still think it's close enough to be considered "budget". Keep up the suggestions! :D
A sideboard has been added!
Honestly I don't like the sword wise centaur in the deck. True, it has its uses, but I feel like Karametra's Acolyte is 2 cmc higher (hopefully getting it out on turn 3) and it acts as a poor man's Nykthos. This would then have unlimited uses with devotion.
