Doubling chant doesn't do anything, why have it?

Why illusionist's bracers? Alesha's ability is triggered not activated.

Alchemist's refuge would be a decent add

Mine isn't budget but for budget card potential to add Read the bones works amazing in the minotaur deck, I also use Dreadbore, door of destinies, and glaring spotlight. haven't tested it since adding the new rare inspired minotaur though.....They have been a long time coming next up dwarves?! :o

How do you play a deck about pirates without costal piracy and customs depot?!

Mine has a much more elf undertone rather than a bunch of random humans/other non-beasts. Cryptic Gateway and Descedants path are both amazing theme deck cards. also Petradon is one of the greatest beasts ever I do like your token undertone. Thornling is cool but frankly a waste of space in a theme deck. and yes Primal hunter would be great for the deck, I'd replace the soul of the harvest with it.

Here's my beast commander deck for comparison/ideas

I build a rather similar deck that uses a lot more control rather than just enchants for heroic, getting daxos reliably over a 2/2 is more difficult but still effective.

if you want to compare here is a link. http://www.mtgvault.com/camfrye/decks/daxos-hero/

Lands are just added as filler, don't have pain lands but will likely use gates or core set duals.

My group of friends play top deck commander if commander at all, highlander is more fun and less of the same thing so yes reaper king is in because its funny and a potential commander so is child of alara. this deck wouldnt be a legal commander deck as fastbond is banned on gatherer.

Skullcracks aren't bad but they ramp the curve a bit more Rakdos return is so cheap right now I'd actually consider getting those instead.

Not a bad idea, might just do that

Red is there because I wanted to build a deck with reforge the soul and whispering madness. the cipher is an added bonus not really relying on it so Tide is ok. If i wanted to make it more serious I would replace think twice with counters. Keeping devastation means no otherworld atlas unfortunately.

Cathar's and Collective seems a bit excessive I think cathars is what to keep, maybe 2 intangible virtues also, I would consider experiment 1 also for potential early creatures. 4 Gavony townships seems high also. maybe some centaur healers for better early game stall.

Its more of a joke deck to play with friends, but I'm kinda tempted to take it to FNM and see how it does. Also with axebanes that black mana source is available I could be cheesy and put in Galvanic Alchemist for stupid infinite mana combo instead of deadeye's for protection.
