I think its 80 bucks is because it is way over used in decks.

It's a one drop creature with exalted that's also a mana dork with three color options. Exalted decks REALLY want to be fast and destroy the opponent before they really get their field set up because usually exalted has the ability to pump up the single attacker to ridiculous power for whatever stage the duel is in (swinging for 3 or 4 damage on turn two is not that uncommon, and it only builds way up from then on) but it is weak on defense, so the low mana cost is really appealing, but the bant color options for mana production is what seals the deal really, that allows you to get more things with exalted out faster, and you don't have to wait for a land of the right type to get some things out since it provides three mana options. It's still expensive, but it is well worth it imo.

What Cithiri says isn't wrong, but I'd like to say that the only reason cards like this get ridiculous price tags is because they get used in a lot of the top decks in the major tournaments. The more decks using a card, the higher the demand, the higher the price, the more money the seller makes.

Why is this card so expensive

Kinda like what cithri and dedwards said but with one extra thing, wizards aren't printing any new 1 mana mana dorks period, let alone with the utility this has. Coupled with the fact that it is a 4 of in the decks that want it and you have card in extremelly high demand.
