It is just really good when u have nothing else to do and need an answer to something and the games are supposed to go long, I've definetly cast Teachings and then play that spell the same turn

That is definitely true, I dont think there is any Merfolk going around in my local metagame but Tron is there and turn 3 Karn/Wurmcoil just ruins everything.
But I have a hard time justifying putting any non-Forest lands in.

Also the deck really isn't meant to be a "Doran Deck" but a "Treefolk Deck", it started off monogreen and really cheap as you were suggesting, you can follow the link in the description to see it.

I havent actually tested this deck but a very similar Treefolk deck:

It doesnt do amazing but I do end up winning more than losing.

Skinshifter has no synergy with Treefol at all, Noble Hierarch and Deathrite Shaman are defineltely needed to keep this deck from being as slow as hell

Skinshifter cannot become a Treefolk and Deathrite is a great utility creature, it can ramp like Noble Hierarch and can help race, either gaining life or doing damage.

Pretty cool card but the problem is that he doesn't totally fit into the theme because he's not a Treefolk

Woodfall Primus and Orchard Warden are good but Im really trying to make this deck deal damage fast and taking out the elves/Hierarch arent gnna help but Cream of the Crops seam pretty cool, especially with Leaf-Crowned Elder and Descendants Path

Battlewand Oak has always dealt more damage than Dungrove Elder for me and I am not really trying to block in this deck so Traproot Kami doesnt really work.

Shadowborn Apostle is already doing that job but I would consider that.

Thrumming Stone is awesome but I (hopefully) will have 6 Shadowborn Apostle's by the time I have 5 mana.

yeah Everbark Shaman can be pretty insane late game, but what im trying to do with the birds is hopefully play a turn 3 Dauntless Dourbark or maybe even Timber Protector which is awesome, but Unstoppable ash has always been a real consideration because that toughness boost is huge and it has trample

Actually, the name is meant to be ironic. The deck is based off of the "mono-black" deck that Conley Woods played in Pro Tour Gatecrash, named "Black By Popular Demand." His deck was named that because there was quite a few people wanting to see a mono-black control deck in competitive Magic. I named my deck "Bolas By Popular Demand" because Bolas is in fact not popular at all and this deck is similar to his.
