Deck Description

The aim of this deck is to make big beefy buggers using means such as heroic enablers to buff out creatures like the Centaur Battlemaster.

The use of Give // Take on a Centaur Battlemaster is also pretty damn awesome!!!

How to Play

So, as previously mentioned, the idea of this deck is to use heroic enablers to make your creatures bigger than your opponents. Cards like Give // Take and Common bond work as double triggers due to their effects.

Give a Centaur Battlemaster 6 +1/+1 counters, and even remove them for 6 more cards to hand. Even removing the counters from other creatures you control could just leave you with a 9/9 Centaur... for an 8 mana investment.

Selesnya Charm gives a Centaur Battlemaster +5/+5 and Trample, Simic charm can either give hexproof or +6/+6.

The Ordeal of Thassa Is primarily for card draw, second for heroics even furter.

Deck discussion for Bant - Big Beefy Buggers.

Nice deck!

My suggestion is to move Selesnya charm to main board it has +2/+2 Trample to help your battle master to double the counters with trample :D

You definitely should be running Fleecemane Lion and also consider Witchstalker. Hexproof is crazy good seeing how this deck works.

Well, the main idea is to kill off any large threats they could use, at instant speed, and since it targets my creatures, it acts as a heroic enabler... Or simply put, KILL ALL THE STORMBREATH DRAGONS!

I really like the deck man. I know everyone is making tons of suggestions, but I wanted mostly wanted to compliment the deck (especially for a budget deck!).

Thanks!! with all the support I'll try and make this deck by the weekend for FnM use, if not next weekend should be do-able!

I actually just finished putting it together on here. I have to ask, though. Do you think Bant or Naya will be stronger in this format?

0
Posted 10 October 2013 at 03:35

I would think more likely to be naya, with things like xenagos and domri in standard, it will be difficult for a good bant deck to push through

EDIT: +3 Simic Charm to the sideboard, with alot of discussion about hexproof, i think it would fit in the deck perfectly, plus the combat trick added on it can get past protection from white (stormbreath and blood baron...)

Hey so I really like the deck, but spells like common bond and give//take can't trigger heroic twice on the same creature can they? I mean it's still only one spell that you're casting, it just happens to target multiple times.

0
Posted 10 October 2013 at 04:22

They can trigger seperate creatures however.

I was about to say the same thing. The same spell can't trigger heroic twice on the same creature.

Mizzium skin will make this deck more efficient i think.

hmmm, I do like the prospect of showing off cards that wouldn't normally see play...

0

u realize u get 9 counters on ur centaur not 6 if u use both of give//take's halves on him right? both have target him as separate spells if i'm not mistaken (u can ask on Draw3Cards.com if u want), and subsequently would then draw 9 cards

0

Sadly, this isn't the case as when you fuse, both halves become one spell, only generating 6 +1/+1 counters...

EDIT: Will be borrowing cards like scav ooze for the deck tomorrow for FnM! Will post results and the deck list I decided with!!!

Perhaps some ready // willing or root born defenses to help against the high threat of supreme verdict. Haven't myself gone to a fnm and not had atleast three of them come roaring acroos the table at me.

One questione about the centaur and Give/Take:
let's say you cast both, so Give -> Centaur is a 9/9 (3 counters from heroic, 3 counters from Give), than you cast Take -> centaur is 12/12 and you draw 9 cards -> Centaur -> 3/3.
Or it's meant to be Take -> centaur 3/3 and draw 6 cards, then Give centaur is again a 9/9?

Doesn't Crowned Ceratok sounds goods with all of this counters? :)
Like the deck, mate +1

After playing tonight, I managed. 2-2 ratio...

VERY impressed with the deck, it worked so well against any GR Aggro, this is using a modified version which used sphinxes rev and fleecemane lion...

Did you also sub in the shocklands? That would kind of kill the budget aspect though.
