Deck Description

Essentially I am trying to drop my opponent using nothing but critters / lands with infect.

How to Play

Mimic Vat is my bread-n-butter. Kill something big with BSZ, imprint it to Vat, and replay for 3 colorless. My favorite thing to do is block Blightsteel Colossus with a 3-drop Blightsteel Colossus. ^_^ Enjoy!

Awesome deck man. The monoblack infect is real cool.

man, i really like your deck. i actually don't have much to say about it.

you managed to do the first monoblack infect deck that i absolutely like.
when the final cycle of the new mirrodin cycle is out i will definetly do a monoblack phyrexia deck.

i just don't know if it will be infect or not. your deck will definetly be a guide for it.

i noticed it now, but your deck manages to be a very good and fast deck while it doesn't have any instant spells that "grow" your creatures. this instants do a good combo with Livewire Lash (this cards... it have just to much potential in infect deck).

But your deck doesn't have any of this. It's just a simple, fast, very Aggro - but not "dumb/reckless Aggro" - deck ... it is just hard to block you. Even using a token based deck.

Corpse Cur to bring the Rats back, also Core Prowler, or Contagion Clasp for proliferate.

I have all of those cards, but I intend on using Mimic Vat to copy the Ichor Rats. The core prowler and clasps, while excellent cards, kind of bite into my ability to churn out cheaper infectors.

not a big fan of black sun or vector asp but whatever floats your boat lol
black sun in my opinion isnt good just because you cant kill your own infection, cuz your deck will loose then but if it works go for it

I love the deck it is beautifully done. i don't know about the black suns though. maybe instead do Grasp of darkness. it's a beutifully constructtted deck tho

i kinda doubt the effectiveness of black sun's zenith in here... but this is one damn awesome deck...

I tend to agree with everyone else... Black sun with either kill every creature you have out, or cut your attack power in half. Grasp of Darkness would be better suited.

Also, Sign in Blood can help you keep dropping creatures at a good pace.

Vector Asp is an underrated card, but only in the right deck. It can work well enough if you get it in your opening hand for a quick counter on turn two, but you'd be better off using virulent wound... It's chump removal and a counter at instant speed instead of one counter per turn (if they can't block) for 1 black.

I use the Black Sun in Conjunction with Mimic Vat, wiping the board and popping Skithiryx / Ichor Rats / Anything my opponent had worth copying.

I don't really see how Everflowing Chalice would be useful in this deck. I rely primarily on black mana [even for the Vector Asp].

Wauw! Self thinking about making a deck like that. Think i will play duress in deck instead of. 2 black sun and so that come in sideboard.
- 2 black sun
+ 2 duress
Sideboard
- 2 duress
+2 black sun

I was thinking about also trying out Horrifying Revelation instead of Duress. I'm also buying the following cards:
-Nim Deathmantle
-Ichorclaw Myr
-Septic Rats
-Livewire Lash

Your deck has a nice concept m8, although the thing with infect decks imo, is that if they do not win withing 5 turns, it's pretty much game over. Ty for the comment on my infect deck, but the reason i made it like that with all the buffing up cards, is that it CAN give an easy turn 3-4 win. This is not the case with your deck, atleast i can not see how it would win in 3-4 turns. so yeah, if you were to survive the early game with your removal and critters, you'd still have a tough fight ahead of you against other decks who are, unfortunately, stronger in mid-late game than infect decks. Have u been able to test it? I'm curious about every kind of infect, and yours I like, although I have my doubts about it.

A friend of mine has a pretty swift R/W deck [boros, I think is what it's called]. I use the Black Sun's Zenith to keep most creatures off the board, using Mimic Vat to keep a critter that is worth it and churning it out for damage [mainly Skithiryx, but if anyone has anything else worth Mimicking then I am all for it. :)

Another deck I played was some kind of G/B deck...it used moderate/heavy creatures, but again...the Black Sun keeps alot of stuff off the field, and since it cycles back into my library, I am rarely hard pressed for one.

And so far I am:
w-l-d
7-0-0 vs. R/W
3-1-0 vs. G/B

i like mimic vat, dont like black knight in sb, well i dont like your sb at all:D

black zenith is not that good in aggro decks because it hurts your creatuers, you should consider changing it to marsh casualities (it kills most of the creatures in format anyway)

vector asp is just plain bad you should just drop it, consider adding some vatmothers they are realy good

as for removals virulent wound is awesome so many x/1 creatres in meta atm it works wonders^^

check out my black infect ver I think my sideboard is better, mby it can help you

Consider sideboarding Massacre Wurm? Its a game ending bomb against any aggro deck. I know its not infect.......but its good! :P

Tumble magnet! I know youre focused on the AGGRO side, but a set of tumble magnets in the side will help you destroy Birds with swords and many other aggro decks!

Nice deck. I have a friend who have a similar deck though he uses vampires bite.
Also have you ever played against a R/B kuldotha with this deck? If you did what was the results?

Should split between two Doom blades and two Go for the throats in your main so that you can take out pesky Artifacts

0
Posted 17 March 2011 at 17:12

or he can just drop throats I just realized that in current meta they are very weak vampires and most of black infectors can be disfigured, only creature you need gftt against is black titan and masacre wurm which are played very rarely

0

For the black sun's zenith, it is amazing against Kuldotha red, but also hurts you, and becomes kind of void against creature light decks. You could board Black sun's Zenith, and mainboard ratchet bomb against decks with Tokens.

0

have you considered how this deck will fare against an ally deck or any deck whose creatures grow faster than you can infect them? infect is all well and good but you might consider adding equipments or auras to buff your creatures and i agree that ratchet bomb would be good too.

0

I'd considered using Ratchet Bomb if I actually had them. I use the black sun with mimic vat to kill most critters and imprint one of them (mine or theirs).

I was thinking of adding Core Prowler and Throne of Geth to try and weasel out 4 poison counters thanks to Mimic Vat:

Tap 3 for Mimic Vat: play Core Prowler token.
Attack with Token for 2 PC (Poison Counters)
Tap Throne of Geth, Sac CP: Proliferate Twice (Once for ToG and once again when CP token hits graveyard).

Any suggestions would be great, especially if any of the cards from NPH are involved!

I guess in a way it "could" help out in games that last too long? I mean...the prospect of dropping 4 PCs on someone or 4 -1/-1 counters on a threatening critter for 3 colorless sounds like a good idea to me. But once again, any and all suggestions are welcome.

Just updated my deck a little bit:

---Main---
-4 Vector Asp
-4 Go for the Throat

+4 Necropede
+4 Dismember

---Side Board---
- All of it

+4 Ratchet Bombs

Any insight as to what can be done to improve on this would be greatly appreciated.

I just placed an order at coolstuffinc.com and bought the following cards:

4x Memoricide
4x Phyrexian Metamorph
4x Surgical Extraction
4x Whispering Spectre

I hope some of these cards will work out in my deck! :D

Some of you may noticed the Metamorph (3U) in my mono black deck. I have EVERY intention of always paying that 2 life to play him out, knowing that if he dies, mimic vat will be there to bring him back for just 3 :)

I like the fact that Metamorph+Vat can give me a sort of "mirror block" against a bigger creature, even going as far as copying an Eldrazi (It that Betrays) for some glorious revenge :)

I think I'm gonna SB Norn's Annex too! I just love the idea of playing that card against a deck with no white mana. 2 choices, buddy:

-Kill the Annex
-Pay the Life (>:-D)

Infect is just great... and I love seeing it in a mono color deck!

The only thing I could suggest is 4 Mutagenic Growth instead of 4 BSZ. BSZ is awesome but it will also devastate your sweet little infectors! Just think about paying 4 life to make your Plague Stinger do 5 infect!

This is solid for standard. Well done!
