Deck Description

Is EDH too expensive for you? Wanna play a fun deck that doesn't cost a fortune? Then allow me to introduce you to....Poor Man's EDH. For under $75 you can own a cool, powerful, and fun EDH deck that isn't too limited. Good lord, this creature base is MEGA budget for Boros Allies. Like seriously, maybe $18 in total. To finally complete the Ravnica color combos for my Poor Man's EDH series comes this deck, and boy did I struggle to find a deck for Boros. I've heard a LOT of people call it the worst colors in EDH, with even more saying certain cards should be in every Boros deck primarily to build around them. Like Sunforger, which in my opinion has no place in this deck. So, I waited and waited, digging through card spoilers for something. Then, Munda appeared on the Boros commander list. After that, I just started adding creatures in, and before I knew it I had 30-ish creatures in the deck already. So, I just let the deck do the rest. It's super budget, it's a nice variety to a very Combo and Value format, and overall, it's a blast watching this deck just make everyone go, "Dude, can anyone deal with that?" Enjoy!

How to Play

On Zendikar, people all across the Plane tirelessly battle the Eldrazi. Goblins, humans, vampires, even the Plane itself came to blows with this menace. Now, with Ulamog and Kozilek defeated, there is peace. Until....one day the armies came. Creatures of all shapes and sizes, all manner of walks of life trampled through the planes, bringing battle wherever they roamed. Lead by epic figures from faraway lands, these battles would rage through whatever crossed their path. This Command Wars, as the natives would call it, were relentless. Now, in the fog of War, a new army ascends. Lead by Munda, a heroic Kor leader during the Eldrazi Invasion, this army is a union of Zendikar natives who fight for peace on their home plane. Munda has quite a name, and that name has given him plenty of allies in this time of need, this includes even you. Now, the time to lead Munda and the Allies to victory approaches!

Munda's plan is simple: utilize the Allies to establish an unstoppable force that wipes any opponent of the map. Allies are a unique creature type that, similar to Slivers, get stronger as you play more. From Hada Freeblade getting bigger to Resolute Blademaster giving all Allies double strike, the range of what can happen by playing a single creature is vast. Even better, every creature you have is an Ally, including the Adaptive Automaton (which strengthens all Allies) and Metallic Mimic! (which gives Allies entering play an additional +1/+1 counter) With so many creatures to back each other up, it's hard to imagine any opponent that can prepare for your mighty Allies!

Now as far as things other than Allies, your deck isn't as varied. You have some niche artifact destruction with Vandalblast, Tear, and Demolish, and some extra ways to trigger your Allies, like Eerie Interlude and Join the Ranks. Most of your focus, however, will be only gaining access to mana to play your creatures and strengthening your forces. This is where your artifacts come in. From mana rocks like Darksteel Ingot and Boros Signet to artifact mana-producers that can let you draw cards like Commander's Sphere and Boros Cluestone, your artifacts play a major role in your path to victory. A great example of this is Obelisk of Urd, which powers all Allies by +2/+2 and you can tap Allies to make it cheaper, or Panharmonicon, which essentially doubles ALL of your Ally ability triggers! So, make sure to use them wisely and try to play around enemy artifact destruction.

Munda himself will be in your corner throughout the game, which at first may be mocked by your opponents. Munda, Ambush Leader is a 3/4 Kor Ally with haste that whenever you play him or another Ally, he lets you add Ally creatures to your hand from off the top of your deck. (if they are there, which shouldn't be an issue since they make over a third of your deck) The best advice he can offer is that sometimes, patience is key. As tempting as it is to start attacking with your Ally squad, sometimes this can lead to getting caught by your opponent's schemes. As an expert in the art of Ambushing, Munda recommends building your forces over time. Let yourself be known, but not a target. After you prepare for a huge Ally drop, go ahead and strike, but try to wait for the best time. Commander format is all about opportunity, and with this deck, you'll easily wipe out a player with the right opportuni
