Deck Description

Coming back into Commander with Grixis Control, I have been looking at some newer cards in RB that I'm quite fond of. Rakdos has always been my favorite 2 color combo, and I always felt the best way to describe it was pain. Rakdos is crazy aggressive, but Rakdos can always be painfully manipulative. So what happens when you get a Commander like Mogis and a bunch of cards that make your opponent's every move a nightmare? A deck named after the best planeswalker in the game. (Sorry Tibalt, I'll get to your reanimator deck soon.) Enjoy this sadistic delight of a deck.

How to Play

Most Commander decks revolve around some gimmick or combo that makes it really boring to go against. Other decks just spam the table with tokens or a tribe. Not you. You're the kind of person who likes to watch everyone squirm. Mogis is the Commander for you then.....

You see, Mogis is a simple god that demands a sacrifice from your opponents. A creature or some life, the choice is yours. It's cards like these that make you smile, forcing your opponent to stop planning their next move and deal with an inconvenience. This deck takes that concept and applies it all around. You want to pressure and discomfort everyone else while kicking back and watching the results. So of course, not only are they gonna be sacrificing life or creatures, but so much more. Cards like Painful Quandry and Sin Prodder are commonplace in these decks, forcing your opponents to make tough decisions. "Is the life loss reasonable for what could happen if I take it on the chin?" Questions like this will keep your opponent from thinking ahead and focusing on the evergrowing list of problems you throw at them. "I could Part the Waterveil, but those Fate Unraveler and Spiteful Visions will burn me for 4 life and I'm only at 6 with no creatures out...." These kind of situations are exactly where you want everyone else, and you've got the tools to do that.

Not enough pressure with just abilities? Mogis has you covered. You've got 3 planeswalkers and some titanic creatures to help keep people down. Hellkite Tyrant and Lord of the Void penalize opponents for not blocking, robbing them of resources and potentially turning said resources against them. Grave Titan slowly builds an Undead army , while The Haunt of Hightower and Ob Nixilis, Unshackled get power and keep raining down pain with flying. Beween your planeswalkers, Angrath punishes their life and hands, Ob Nixilis Reignited fills yours and destroys problem creatures, and best of all Chandra gains mana, hand advantage, and damage! With all these different ways to give your opponent a headache, it's only a matter of time until they slip up. And when they do, your deck will punish them with no remorse.
