Deck Description

Do you want to play Commander without spending hundreds? Do you like controlling the game? Do you like flicker decks? Do you like stealing strategies? Do you like keeping everyone on edge with your Commander? Do you want to win with Grimoire of the Dead? Then say no more. Phyrexia has come, and returned one of it's heaviest hitters. Forget making friends, it's time to compleate and delete.

How to Play

With Dimir, our object is to throw a wrench into our opponents hands. With Ertai, we let them know from opening hands that we aren't planning on making friends. Our goal is to deny our opponents as much as we can. Ertai will always be a threat in the zone, the mere possibility of countering important cards staring down our opponents with phyrexian spite. To make matters worse, we've crammed our deck full of disruptive shenanigans, like Hostage Taker and Languish, to keep the board as we deem fit. To exacerbate the issue, we also pack in bounce and flicker effects to help recur Ertai on a dime, or net more value off a particularly nasty ETB effect.

To actually finish off our opponents, we have all sorts of tricks to keep our opponents guessing. We have imposter cards like Evil Twin that copy big win cards and pull the rug from our opponents (which we can reset with flickers) to steal someone else's strategy. We can fill graves with counters and removals, then control the game as our Grimoire studies up and raises all the dead. If we feel spicy, we can slap Ertai with the Pike and a grave full of instants and sorceries to slam jam faces. All in all, just go with the flow, as long as you're controlling the flow...
