Deck Description

this is a deck ive been perfecting quietly but should work great probably one of my best ever, can you beat it? Okay i looked into this deck and besides the parallel lives entreat of angels/increasing devotion combo there is also the underrated herald of war which work for both you get a free token for every counter on herald of war and 2 free for each counter if parallel lives is out so between the champs and the other cheap creatures with descendants path itll be pretty hard to beat it has play tested amazing.

Update I am thinking of adding blessings of nature for herald of war but am undecided as the deck works great thus far

Deck discussion for tokens and destruction

I like it, and once it's up and running this combo is quite formidable. But the one thing I noticed in play-testing is that the deck is awfully slow to start. On average I spend about 5-7 turns waiting for the chance to do something because the average converted mana cost for these cards 4+. Moreover, most of those require at least two white mana which you need to wait for. So, one you might be interested in is playing with your land distribution, since only 9/60 cards actually require green mana.

I think you meant for Descendants' Path to help balance out the high mana costs, but less than half the cards in this deck are creatures, and only a fraction of those creatures share creature types with your lower-level creatures, meaning they won't help you bring out the larger creatures any more quickly. So, most of the cards Descendants' Path reveals just get put on the bottom.

Short Version:
Great combo, slow deck.

thanks for the input yeah getting the big combos out takes a while the champs with gather the townsfolk have been a savior the avacyns pilgrim has been helping with the lack of (w) can you think of anything to speed it up ive been playing on cockatrice and its about 90%-95% wins but i do have real close games with decks that are super fast. but a shadow deck did whoop me pretty bad lmao.

I'd personally alter the land distribution. Maybe 5 Forests and 13 Plains. That alone should speed up things a bit.

I'd also take out "Descendants' Path" (or at least one of them), considering their ineffectiveness.

Lose "Rhox Faithmender" in favor of another low-level white human. Could be any number of creatures, maybe "Unruly Mob"?

Maybe -1 "Day of Judgment" +1 Increasing Devotion.

-1 "Entreat the Angels" and +1 "Gather the Townsfolk".

Overall, anywhere you could replace the non-creature spells with low-level white humans, you're probably better off.

I'd loose some forests in exchange for plains; cavern of souls is always great if you can afford 'em. Maybe toss in a moonsilver spear - free angels

Maybe you should try Intangible Virtue to pump your tokens or Midnight Haunting for instant-speed flyers.

I could definitely use both of those but what do you think I should take out to for them in?

Why do you have rox faithmender in here? Him and elspeth are the only cards you can gain life with... Maybe if you're gonna keep him in there, add like soul warden or souls attendant?

Seriously this deck kicked my ass on Cockatrice. Maybe you should consider Midnight Haunting though.

Nice deck, I would consider adding more Elspeths because its power in token generation. I am not convinced for the Herald. It only directed to make Avacyn cheaper, and with those pilgrims you have the extra mana you need. I would switch it for an extra Elspeth and something of your choice.

Check my deck if you can, also uses lots of tokens, but only soldiers:

Yeah the heralds are more or less for flying but at the same time they do help out for swarming cause it works for spells not just creatures. thanks for advice. i commented on your deck
